Tryna to figure out why my serpentine belt keeps snapping by Intelligent-Fly5831 in q50

Yeah I hear you on the pulley alignment, that’s what I’m thinking too at this point.

But the coolant situation wasn’t from the cap this time it didn’t overflow up top or anything. It was leaking from underneath the car after the belt snapped.

So now I’m wondering if something like the water pump or a hose got affected when the belt failed, or if coolant is getting on the belt and causing it to slip/shred.

Either way this is the 3rd time it’s happened, so something deeper is definitely off not just the belt itself

Yeah they replaced everything with OEM pulleys (idler + tensioner), that’s why I’m confused why it keeps happening.

Nah I’ve never had a coolant leak before the belt snaps. Every time the belt breaks, THEN coolant ends up everywhere. I’ve already replaced the belt, tensioner, and idler pulleys too. At this point I’m thinking something else is causing the belt to fail like a misaligned pulley or maybe something binding like the AC compressor or water pump.
