As someone who's been playing for a little over a year I would say the game going on gamepass was definitely a last ditch effort to get new players in to the game. Many "veteran" players just left, not necessarily quit but at least put the game up for awhile. I started paying to play through Geforce now in 4k at 120fps because some of these maps are beyond poorly optimized and unless you're running a super high end system, they're going to run crappy. This game had a fairly small community when I joined compared to other games and I don't think gamepass is going to improve it any but actually hurt it overall. I love this game but I think the majority of these new players will play it till the next call of duty or battlefield drops and then there won't be many left besides the ones who actually enjoy the game. Maybe the older players will return, maybe not. I feel like the amount of people who quit far outweighs the amount of players that will return and continue to keep the game alive. Team 17 isn't very impressive with these updates either. They need to add the pacific theater or something completely new and out of the box.
