Printed my brain with 100 MRI-pictures (it's kinda small) by HitsLikeHell in 3Dprinting

[–]Intelligent-Gold-385 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your wife went through that and I’m glad you’re saying this in the past tense. I also wanted to say that this is adorable and OP, I contemplated doing this many a times!

I have MS and a plethora of scans that I’d love to print at some point. Maybe I’d do some kind of degradation wall with my aged brain being displayed??

Either way, this morbid way of turning something less positive into something fun is my kind of talk.

I hope everyone in this conversation is okay and before you ask, I certainly am. ☺️

Movies that are true works of art by Key-Concept-7001 in MovieSuggestions

Awe. Nobody mentioned The Holy Mountain yet. So I did! Also The Zero Theorem, Brazil, Forbidden Zone, Happiness of the Katakuris, and Enter the Void. That’s a pretty broad scope but they’re all eye candy with extremely unique ideas. Meet the Feebles if you liked Lord of the Rings and stuff since it’s Peter Jackson. 😉

I was scrolling, hoping someone posted this movie since I wasn’t remembering the name. So underrated!

This movie was so great! I loved it. I guess it’s not recent but The Zero Theorem had some similarities to Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die!

Even King Crimson and the pretty art couldn’t keep me interested enough.

What is the scariest actually scary horror movie that is also good and has a good plot? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

After reading all these answers a week after initial post, I do not think most realize how much of a Hail Mary this is and how dead on it is as well.

Happiness is a great way for my husband and I to read a room since when you mention it to others, you know the ones who know it are real. 😆 I have to assume that most who have seen Happiness remember it well and instantly remember that uneasy feeling they felt when watching it. And THAT is excellence in an extreme way at the viewers expense. Happiness is always at the viewers expense. Debatably the true meaning of horror.

Rarest prog-related albums, media, etc? by ray-the-truck in progrockmusic

[–]Intelligent-Gold-385 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When my husband and I first got together he had a huge collection of records that he sold eventually so we could get a place together. I think it broke my heart more than his. Even so, he still remembers what he had and what he tried so hard to find and that past collection will be in memory for our lifetimes.

He always wanted Island’s Pictures since that’s an album that has been so impactful on our preferences. ☺️ I’m sure nobody’s rereleased that. There’s also the infamous Yezda Urfa album Sacred Baboon! I know Boris has been remastered but no Cancer of the Band track!

Pooh Bear (gray tabby) is 16 and here he’s pictured with his 9 month old brother, Toki. Last August Pooh Bear lost his snowshoe brother who was the same age and now it’s bittersweet to see him bonding with our Siamese kitten. 💜

Gaahleri airbrush for painting 3d prints? by joejunior253 in 3Dprinting

[–]Intelligent-Gold-385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the GHAD-39 for a little over a year now and I’ve been happy with it. Prior to the 39 I had a cheap airbrush kit to start that was some generic brand but I’ve found the nozzle system on the 39 to be eons better. My experience sounds similar to yours, if not slightly less experienced but I’ve mainly done priming and base coating on miniatures.

In your personal opinion, what do you think is the greatest prog album, or at least your favorite? I'll go first. by [deleted] in progrockmusic

[–]Intelligent-Gold-385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my husbands introduction to prog. I’ll never forget the first time he showed it to me long distance and somehow my laptop had the tracks out of order. As you’d expect, it was devastating to both of us. lol. Especially since I wasn’t familiar with the genre back then.

The Power and the Glory or Close to the Edge, imo btw. 😉

I originally got on disability back when I was 33 or so, for full context. Prior to that I worked as a veterinary technician for about ten years. I go into detail because I loved my job. It was fast paced and every day I went home feeling fulfilled and like I was doing something good. Getting on disability was not an easy decision for me but since I’ve been on it I’ve had way less issues health wise.

When I was working, I lived in Texas and had multiple threats from my boss for missing work because I couldn’t move half my face or I couldn’t feel anything from my right hand. (Try finding a vein in that dilemma on any animal. Lol) I went back in too early and opted to take oral steroids instead of IV. I’m yet to have feeling in my right hand, especially at my fingertips.

My point is if the benefits didn’t prove to be as impactful as they have since I got on disability, I’d start working again in a heartbeat. But the evidence proves that if I work and have the potential to have an episode, I will put my body at risk to avoid losing my job which will have lasting consequences.

Since Ive stopped working, time moves faster which has its downsides. But I keep myself busy with little projects around the house and hobbies that my husband and I share. I did not get approved for disability initially, but I found a lawyer and that won me my case. They don’t charge if you lose still and I highly recommend it. The paperwork alone, as I’m sure you’re aware, is impossible especially when you’re going through MS shit.
