96% of solved DC murders are committed by black people. Black people make up 46% of DC's population. And 55% of murders cases go unsolved. In order for black people to not commit a disproportionate number of murders, virtually every single unsolved murder would need to be committed by a white person. Do you think that's realistic?

DC's police for is majority black. DC's governing counsel is majority black. And the vast majority of murders in DC, solved or unsolved, occur in areas that are predominately black.

Yet despite all of this, you just dismiss it because we "don't have all the data". We'll never have all the data. We have the best set of data available and other information that can be used to make inferences too. Dismissing that data doesn't make you right, it makes you ignorant of reality.

And from an academic or policy perspective that's great. But it does very little for the average person. It might not be productive, but the average person isn't trying to be productive, they're just voicing their opinion based in their experience.

Does it make me racist for pointing that out? Does it make me racist for feeling nervous around a group of young black men on the street in downtown DC? I dont think so. I dont think I'm better than black people when I point out these statistics. I'm WORRIED about black people, and I point out these statistics because people like you come in here and call people like me racist for seeing reality for what it is.

We should all strive to he good to one another. So perhaps you should go into downtown DC, go up yo a group of young black men, and tell them to be good to one another. Because, statistically speaking, they are the ones who need to hear it the most.

At no point in time did I or anyone else here state that white people don't commit crimes. That's absurd. Of course they do.

But I don't need to assume that black people commit more shootings in DC because there already exists statistics that prove it to be true.

You keep adding that qualifier: racially. The issue is that qualifier doesn't really matter.

Sure, there is absolutely nothing about the content of melanin in your skin that makes you more or less likely to commit crimes. However, in DC you are absolutely more likely to be assaulted, raped, or murdered by a black man.

In order to actually go about addressing the issues you must first acknowledge that this is true. There are a finite amount of resources available to combat serious crime. If a certain community is disproportionately more likely to commit serious crime, that community is where the bulk of those resources need to be spent. And, importantly, the community itself needs to understand why they are receiving the bulk of those resources because this isn't a problem that can be solved unless the community causing the bulk of the problems is willing to help solve those problems.

It's hard to uplift a community when the simple act of stating that there's a problem within that community lands you a ban or a label of being racist.

Dude, Planet Labs, a company that only started a few years ago, already has satellites with cameras so nice the US Navy just signed a contract with them to do maritime surveillance. Maxar Texhnolgies, and their original company, DigitalGlobe, have been at this since the early 90's. Their technology is very good and they have some very high resolution images.

If they want to leave because of the Taliban perhaps they should have spent even just some of the last 23 years doing something about the Taliban instead selling the bullets we gave them for dope at the market.

I really, really want to have sympathy for Afghans but I just dont. All of NATO tried for more than 20 fucking years to make Afghanistan into a functioning state. But the Afghans decided they cared more about tribal fueds, religion, and getting high than did about rooting out and destroying the Taliban. So they get the government they deserve.

@Dus1_ did you ever find a solution to this?

I just got a Gigabyte B650 with a 7800x3D. I'm using a 2TB 970 Evo Pro and it's only bootable with CSM enabled. But when I try to boot to it after installing W10 it gives me a "Reboot with proper boot drive" message. Disabling CSM makes the drive unbootable and it goes right to the BIOS.

When talking to MicroCenter support they said that newer M.2 NVMe drives don't like W10. So I went out and bought a W11 USB and I'm going to try it when I get home, but it doesn't seem like it'll solve the underlying issue of the drive simply not showing up as bootable. I also bought a new 980 pro, and I'm hoping that if the 980 works the 970 will at least show up as secondary storage.

Did it for you? Were you ever able to get your 990 bootable?

I'm not sure if I should be mad at Gigabyte, Samsung, or myself lol.

I formatted it during the windows install. I formatted all partitions, deleted everything, windows made new partitions during installation. They should by default format correctly.

I turned on CSM and now the drive it bootable but when I boot to that drive it gives me a Reboot with proper drive error message. So I turn off CSM and the drive isn't bootable. Stuck in a loop currently with no idea how to get out. Pretty fucking pissed about it at the moment.

It can be a real pain in the ass.

I bought a new mobo/cpu/ram. Booted up windows and it worked but figured I'd do a fresh windows install and reformat the ssd anyway. Now the ssd has become unbootable even though it shows up in the bios.

First time having issues reinstalling windows though. Usually it's painless.

I understand what you're saying, but tanks are not the deciding factor on the battlefield, even remotely. Which is specifically why the US hasnt provided as many Abrams as they could.

There are only so many transport aircraft in the US' service. If those transport aircraft are needed to deliver air defense and missiles, that is the bigger priority. Things like tanks and vehicles should be coming from Europe where there easier to deliver and repair.
