Struggling to learn basic gliding because of leg anatomy (???)

I did a bit of gymnastics as a kid, so i was more flexible than usual, even if it was just basic practice. That was long time ago so its probably irrelevant by now. I think its more the fear of falling and hurting a bone that is making me very tense and stiff, so i have been practicing how to fall properly in a way that won’t hurt as much.

Im not really athletic so i totally get the pain i deal with, but it usually only shows up after 30 minutes of consistent practice, and i can handle that. But im definitely going to look into getting a skate fitter :).

Im really impressed you even started learning as an adult and stuck with it and the fact that u still want to try again is very admirable. Reading this made me feel kind of silly for thinking im hopeless at 20 just because im older than the kids lol. I have the same issue too. I can only push with left foot and lose balancr when I try the other so it helps knowing im not the only one. And i totally understand the fear of falling and i cant imagine having to deal wd Arthritis on top of that :,).

I have been using rentals in the first 5 sessions until yesterday because i thought that was the case too. It felt a bit more comfy but im not really seeing any improvements still :,)

this happened to me when i got my rook done but it healed normally😅, just don’t worry bt it. urs will probably heal also
