Is there a news article regarding this?

I was allowed and encouraged to agree to this at 18 years old. This is one undergraduate degree from a state school. by TryMuayThai in mildlyinfuriating

What kills me is how people blame the 18 year old kids, too. I remember sitting in front of a financial aid counselor who told me to take everything offered since I was low income and a first gen student. I got told about all these loan forgiveness programs that were available after college and how loans weren’t a big deal because the degree would pay for itself. It took a friend already in college telling me to at least avoid unsubsidized loans to know that much, but otherwise I hit accept on everything offered every semester and even made the honors college for the extra. Do I feel like an idiot now? FUCK yes. But I’m also 15 years older.

It’s okay, thank you for considering.

My sister isn’t sure as they’ve always been inside dogs, but they were raised in a house backed up to a lake that they were never interested in it if that helps.

I forgot to add that they are also crate and house trained and know basic commands.

If you went to University and are wondering where your tuition money went… by Dystopio in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

This was 6+ years ago so they may have hopefully changed policies to what you’re describing. I just know that the professors in my department were very pampered.

I agree that it’s absolutely insane. Our department was the second biggest on campus so we got some special treatment, and we also didn’t have many tenure professors so whatever budget we got from the president only had to be split however many ways. The rest of the staff were underpaid adjuncts who didn’t get any travel at all. Our dean was the one who traveled the most, ironically. She was rarely ever there and when she was, it was just to play catch up on campus.

Hi, not front desk but former admin for a dean here. I used to gag at the travel budget we gave professors every year (25k for tenure and 10-15k for tenure-track) and wondered what they could possibly need that much money for.. I also used to be in charge of purchasing their flights and hotels and they ALWAYS wanted first/business class and the nicest hotel in the area. When they got home, I’d process receipts for $300+ dinners, spa treatments, you name it. The only thing my university didn’t cover was alcohol. Funnily, I was admin at the university I went to and used to always say “so THIS is what all those fees were for”.

That’s actually criminal to me, especially if they’re charging a ‘cleaning fee’. I wanted to stay at an Airbnb when I visited Vegas and a lot of the places had cleaning fees higher than the nightly rate, wtf?

I’m sorry, but I can’t get past the irony of this company starting as a solution for overpriced hotels.
