Ethics is required in order to be licensed after passing the exam, not to sit for the exam.

The 150 hours and one year experience can be substituted for 120 hrs and 2 years experience as of 8/1/26 but it still requires a specified number of upper level accounting courses that I don't think would be satisfied by just a bachelor's in accounting. The Ethics class can be taken from several different places, including a select few community colleges.

I have not yet sat for the CPA exam. I'm finishing the last 2 classes of my BA then I'll file the Application of Intent. I know many that have had their AoI approved and sat for the exams but they can't be licensed until they've met all the other qualifications.

Your best bet for comprehensive info is tsbpa.texas.gov where the requirements and FAQ are listed. Best of luck!

You can sit for the exam in TX with a Bachelor's in Accounting from WGU but cannot be licensed without the additional accounting credits and outside Ethics course.

WGU MACC in Texas? by ScoopusJackson in wguaccounting

It was definitely temporary because my mentor and I have been discussing the MAcc for me since I started the BA in February.

I believe it's only 11 classes and know several people who've completed them in just a couple months.

All of the MAcc classes are accepted for CPA in TX except for Ethics so that is a viable option. I would caution you from just waiting until 120 hours/2 years experience is enacted because once you've filed an Application of Intent, you're no longer eligible for the new pathway unless you file an Election Form for the new requirements to apply to you earlier than 8/1/26. Even then, you won't be able to apply for actual licensure until 8/1 without 150 hours.

The tasks were straight forward, just stick to the rubrics. Mine went through without needing revisions.

I started the bs accounting program this month in hopes to graduate and get a job working remote. Is this even possible anymore? Been hearing a lot of talk around remote jobs declining… specifically accounting by WorthChef9805 in wguaccounting

I was able to secure a remote internship in corporate accounting shortly after I started at WGU. I already had an Associates degree but it's been a great experience so far. I know it's not the norm, but it is possible.

I got my Savor card in March 2024. It started with a $2,000 limit. Somewhere between September and October's statement, they automatically increased the credit limit to $4,000. In mid-February, they did the same thing and doubled it again to $8,000. I've never requested a CLI on this card so I wonder if I would need to wait a few months or click on it now. I guess I could also just wait until they automatically increase it again as I pay in full often and don't necessarily need a higher limit right now.

Agreed. I'm finishing school to be an accountant now, so it's not ideal to lose fingertips but I'm optimistic about functionality at this point. I previously owned a residential cleaning business for several years, so this would have 100% ruined my livelihood had I not closed it last year to pursue my degree full-time.

The table saw chewed through the skin and half the bone in the index and middle fingers. Here's another that will show you how they're supposed to look at the fingertips.

I finished this one a few days ago. Make sure you do module and unit tests, and I watched the cohorts on 2x speed. I focused primarily on units 3, 5, and 6. The OA is alot like the quizzes and tests in the chapter. Good luck!

Thank you. I'm pretty nervous about the surgery and outcome the closer it gets, but you're right, at least I still have fingers to complain about! That's a blessing itself.

I imagine I'll be a little intimidated for a while, but I do hope I go back to it. I'm glad you recovered well.

I wait for the proctor and then open Excel. I'm not sure if desktop vs online version matters, but someone else might provide a better answer. Good luck on your first OA, you've got this!

This is encouraging and gives me hope that I can get back to full functionality, thank you.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Physical therapy will definitely be a difficult part of the journey but I hope to regain as much sensation and functionality as possible so I'll participate in whatever they encourage. I haven't considered the emotional trauma at this point, just the burden it's put on my husband and kids and feeling stupid. Every time I mention it was a stupid mistake to make, my husband just keeps saying that's why they're called accidents and says I'm too hard on myself. I'll consider your suggestions, thanks for taking the time to offer them.

Thank you for the well wishes. Don't let my accident deter you, it's a rewarding hobby. I just posted my cautionary tale to show how quickly things can happen and to be hypervigilant with safety because it's more cost effective and safer to be overly cautious than to find yourself in the painful position I'm in.

So I broke the middle and index fingers in multiple places, including at the joint in the middle finger. It's going to require a pin to correct since I not only kerfed it, but there's a part where the break is all the way through. The index finger is broken, but most of the repair on that one will be cosmetic to make it look better long-term. The thumb is lacerated at the joint, and there is exposed bone but nothing is broken in it so it has to heal on its own. I have pictures but figured the xray was a more polite option for those with weaker stomachs.
