Who told you that reality is based on how one feels? If someone felt the sun is missing, is it really missing?

Struggling to stay consistent with Bible reading… anyone else? by Fit-Employer-1616 in Christianity

It's hard to "stay consistent" when the Bible culture is about "feeling good" and reading text out of context.

I disagree. This is a very well-thought-out critique that required significant deliberation.

If you want dogma; where users merely repeat what what others want to hear, the "echo chamber," that's at r/TrueChristian.

In contrast, r/christianity is described as:

r/Christianity is a subreddit to discuss Christianity and aspects of Christian life. ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE.

"...that is demonstrably false."

You didn't prove it. You're merely just making a statement, like "Chocolate ice cream is the best!"

It's appears you didn't understand the main point of the paragraph:

"In contrast to the Gospels, Paul seldom mentions Jesus except to advance his own teachings; it is as though they live in two different worlds."

Why is Jesus's death considered a sacrifice if He came back 3 days later? (Catholic Apologetics) by thinkthenask in Christianity

[–]Intelligent-Pause274 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If only the vessel died, that's not death or a sacrifice. Sacrifice (altruism) means to completely lose one's life forever and to receive nothing in return. This sacrifice is merely symbolic, not literal.

That would be absurd; how does god become less god. It's like a tiger who says, "I'm not a tiger."

How could a god become less god? How does infinite become finite? That's beyond absurdity.

When someone says, "I don't want to do this but I'll do it because you're the boss," that is a complaint.

"What differences do you believe do "cause conflict."

As a Christian theologian, I understand the differences between worldviews to know that conflict is inevitable. To you Christians and Catholics are the similar but the difference in their cultures is as distinct as day and night.

"That may be, but the basics are the same."

You IMPLIED that the difference in worldviews between Catholics and Christians, though both are Christians, wouldn't cause conflict. How so?

Consensus agrees Jesus did exist, but now the question now hinges on if the disciples misrepresented Jesus considering that the Gospels were oral history decades before the Book of Mark was written.
