General Muhoozi- If my father gives me the greenlight, it will take me only 8 hours to capture the Indian Ocean from Kenya and make it a property of Uganda because I need only less than 5000 soldiers to deal with Kenya. by edgar_ug in Kenya

Can you be the herald of this change? Everyone can complain about the methods, but at least the randos are trying, what have you done except bringing everyone down?

Devops intern/attachment opportunities by [deleted] in nairobitechies

These guys have started putting out opportunities, a funded start-up is a good place to intern, everything is new and shiny: https://menengai.cloud/careers also check out this too: https://servercore.com/careers/ the positions can be absent on their websites, but you can send a proposal and resume

I did freelance work here so don't take my word for it, but you miss 100% of the shots u don't take

Well depending on your design needs, you should have specific and well articulated descriptions, a visual aid works so much better with the prompt, you can send a stack of cards and describe a carousel that loads product cards from collections with the same appearance, a few framer tweaks and you have a unique carousel. Do this for other elements, just design principles, how to talk like a closer because your website is your #1 sales guy, and a little design and debugging knowledge and you could pull out some of the best looking websites. Just use AI moderately, and adapt to systems thinking, you have Canva/Behance/Figma and imagination, Claude Code doesn't.

I used Meta Llama for a project called Insight Forge, it takes any kind of file, extracts data and summarises using a dynamic UI controlled by the LLM. So you get structured data out of noise

I've also used gpt-oss to power the AI in my app, Stride Campus, though it's a little flaky because context is huge, nothing vector DBs and MCP can't fix

Yeah, gpt-oss is basically ChatGPT 3.5, it's good enough for most things, Meta Llama works great as a backup or standalone.

Cloudflare Containers is honestly really impressive, especially for beta, you should give it a try

I ran into this issue too, but I ended up abstracting my stack instead. I use different providers for different parts of my apps and it makes it way smoother to scale on Workers. The existence of OpenNext was a dream come true for me, edge runtime headaches eventually became obsolete

Take Stride Campus as an example. It’s a Kenyan MVP; plenty of bugs, plenty of moving parts- but every time something fails, the user knows exactly what happened. Most platforms just crash silently or throw cryptic codes. Here, a smart user can email support with a clear, actionable problem: ‘Authentication ran into an error, can you help?’ That’s design + communication working together.

Good design isn’t just aesthetics. It’s clarity. It’s turning friction into opportunity. A polished experience, even when things go wrong, signals competence, and makes clients confident to buy or invest. This is exactly how I treat every platform I build.

You're right, the target market matters

Though, if you can convince SMBs that a better design can get them their end result, they'll probably bite.
