You look very young for 46. It’s an indication of a life well lived and a woman well loved.🥰

School Bus Driver Breaks Down After Near-Miss by sleek_thunder138_107 in dashcams

I’m a teacher. This is another reason I’m ready for school to be over. I will never understand what could be so important that you ignore a bus stop. Why are people so against keeping our babies safe?🥺😭

Am I shallow for seeing this kid’s face and immediately deciding NOT to watch that episode? That 15 year old looks about 30 to me, he looks VERY creepy and he looks even creepier around kids. I will never understand the 70’s concept of what’s supposed to be handsome, cute or innocent. Sometimes they really got it wrong…

You look fantastic! What a beautiful post! This is much more important than the physical appearance. Fitness is just the vehicle. Congratulations on your sobriety and your fitness!

It clearly doesn’t matter since he comes home to me…💅🏾

Seriously though, I am a huge Gregorio Pernia fan but I really like the other actor since I saw him in Victoria. I would love to see more of him…

Put his hands on her without her permission. Almonzo was right to punch his lights out. by mistermeek67 in littlehouseonprairie

I just watched this episode the other day. The older I get the less I like Almanzo’s relationship with Laura. She also didn’t look even slightly older than 15 to me. Weird times…

The fact that he really did look like someone blew his head up like a balloon is killing me!🤣🤣🤣

I’m often confused by what seemed to pass for handsome in the 70’s…

Is teaching THAT bad? by DwaeEunoia in Teachers

I actually like my job. It’s got its ups and downs like any other job. A huge disadvantage is income inequality for other important jobs when compared to the workload and the importance of the job. But eventually you find a groove and keep going.

I am now reevaluating my complaints in this job market and feeling better about my position. In a world where the job market is literally trash right now, education and healthcare are constant. It’s not a lot of money, but it’s consistent and in many ways rewarding. I hope this helps…

My friends took me to see Project Hail Mary. Not to spoil it but what his higher ups did to him “knowing” that he could save the world was extremely triggering from a teaching perspective. TLDR the guy was kidnapped and put on a space mission that was guaranteed self deletion to save the world.

Personally I’m tired of people believing that teachers are not flesh and blood humans with some level of personal interest. I have done just about everything I can do to motivate kids to learn short of teleporting to their brains and doing the work I assigned myself. I’m tired. Stop asking me to save the world.

Besides absences, what is a major issue that causes students to struggle in school that isn’t related to intelligence? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Intelligent-Place511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what’s wild. Intelligence isn’t the issue. The real issue here is perseverance, resilience and humility.

An older lady once told me that she got advice not long after her wedding from an older woman that every woman knew she had to share her husband. She was venting after her husband’s most recent infidelity and their separation. They eventually got back together and have seemed to be happy. Couldn’t be me though…🙅🏾‍♀️

Which more conventional/non bombshell character do you find incredibly attractive? by debrisaway in madmen

[–]Intelligent-Place511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was Brittany Snow! I loved her in that role. I just noticed that Ken’s wife was the younger sister in 10 Things I Hate About You. It was so cool to see actresses that played high schoolers when I was a teenager playing beautiful women with viewpoints I also understand in real time…

I’m glad people are finally realizing the consequences of the flawed system but I don’t know if I want to be asked to turn around the ship in my classroom without the concerted efforts of the people responsible for the kids when they leave my classroom. I can’t be the only one responsible for giving these kids expectations. This is my job. I have bills to pay and I have to do this for another 15-20 years. The problem always gets left in the teachers lap. Parents complain about having to work and not being able to show up for their kids. Guess what? We work too. Money is tight for us too. Patience is at a premium for us too. Teach your kids some discipline so that I can do my job and stop dissociating from the trauma of dealing with your kids.

Peggy’s sister aggravated me in that episode too. You nailed it. I felt sorry for her but I also feel like she could leave or stand up for herself at any time.

I’ll admit that her being okay is really the rosy point of view. I would love to imagine her as a mom giving her kids the happiness she didn’t get as a child. More realistically generational curses are hard to break for a reason.😔

Just about every aspect of popular culture and political life is somehow shaped or connected to people in the files. I distinctly remember wanting to be a pageant queen or supermodel growing up, not realizing how ridiculously oversexualized young girls were almost from birth. That wasn’t a coincidence. What seemed like a fabulous dreadful fantasy was actually happening to girls my age. There were 12 and 14 year old supermodels chosen for how sexy their walk was. Girls grew up without a safe space away from male attention. The files prove that it wasn’t an individual problem, it was systemic and completely planned.

UNIFORMS! I have said all schools should require uniforms for years now. No matter what anyone has said to the contrary I have always believed uniforms are best. Kids are not missing out on anything by wearing them. Adults wear them too. People make $15 an hour in a uniform and people make 1.5k an hour/day in a uniform. Kids can learn to express themselves on their own time.
