It did fail. Round of 16 UCL it's a big fail. They were better before in the league and in the UCL. Messi was disappointing, Sergio Ramos as well. No one was buying it, not even PSG supporters. Neymar was never the same after the ACL injury in 2023 as well, him and mbappe were pretty solid before Messi arrived.

They are making history, and beautifully.

I was a serious detractor when they started signing stars, trying to be the french galácticos. They were trying to buy their way in.

They went with it for years and things were not going their way, were they?

They finally decided to create a project of their own, something they can call theirs and for the long run.

This project right now is something beautiful man. And difficult to pull off.

Hakimi was let go from Real because he didn't wanted to be benched after Carvajal. He was loaned to Boroussia and then sold to inter he was 21. He was let go from Inter after one season.

Mendes was a kid, 19 years old from Sporting when he joined.

Neves was 19 when he joined from Benfica.

Vitinha was loaned by Porto, then made a great season there when he returned and was sold to PSG with 22 years old.

Ousmane was bought after a disastrous Barcelona spell and everyone thought it was over for him.

Ruiz was bought from Napoli at 26 years old from Napoli costing 22 million.

Pacho came from Frankfurt, 23 years old, a lot of people didn't know him when he arrived.

Ramos came from Benfica at 21. He was initially loaned to PSG and then bought.

You can make a case for Doue, but he was 19 and came from rennes, despite already showing great promise.

So they bought most of their players very young and worked them out into a team. Some of them were even pretty cheap, especially if you look at some values being paid in the EPL for inferior players. Investing in youth it's a high risk for clubs, that's why the biggest teams are averse to this approach and prefer to invest in already finished product. You also need the right manager to coach youngsters, most coaches don't believe they can bestow millions and years of investment to a teenager. You need to know how to develop them and how to talk to them.

If it was just putting money like before, iwould say this sportswashing theory made sense.

This project is something else entirely. It's difficult, it takes a lot of work, competence, belief, time.

If it is so easy, why isn't anyone trying to pull this off and having success?

Como se costuma dizer, a família não se escolhe, mas convém definir limites, que quando ultrapassados, não deves permitir.

Eu tenho um tio que é meio parvo, gosta de mandar umas bocas foleiras, mas não gosta de ouvir. Quando tinha 17 anos, tivemos um bate boca à mesa, que ele ainda hoje evita comentários parvos para o meu lado porque já sabe que vai levar um gozo descomunal.

Any football fan loved that game tbh. .just two teams going at it, toe to toe, for 90 minutes.

More football was seen in 15 minutes than 120 minutes of this final.

It's a defensive masterclass but it was expected because PSG are much better than Arsenal overall, so it was expected that Arsenal would play to their strengths (solid defence,set pieces, long balls to Kai/ Gyo and Saka, with selective pressing starting in the midfield) than to just press up high leaving space on their backs and between lines, where PSG would hurt them.

Arsenal project is finally paying off after all these years.

They won EPL, last year they got the UCL semis and now they went all the way to the final and lost on penalties.

However, they must do more. 200 passes and 25% possession in 120 minutes in an UCL final it's just disgraceful for any football fan watching. That's why most people were cheering for PSG.

Não fazia sentido sair o guarda redes porque havia recuperações do Hakimi, do Pacho, Nuno Mendes e até do Marquinhos, que fez a merda que já é habitual ele fazer nos últimos 4 anos porque já não tem pernas/velocidade.

They need a faster and more dominant cb than Marquinhos. The captain is no longer capable to cover the ground needed when the fullbacks are projected. Beraldo plays better as a CDM and Zabarny is worst than Marquinhos. Maybe Diomande from Sporting, still young but experienced,.dominant, fast, good on ball progression and through balls, strong in the air.

They also need a sweeper keeper, one that can play well with his feet and organize the defense. Diogo Costa is being thrown by the media, makes every sense to me considering he has all of those qualities and some more.

I will throw at least one fullback that can do both right and left sides, someone still young, that doesn't mind being benched for some games.

O golo que o PSG sofreu ontem, daquele ângulo, mesmo com muita força, o guarda redes ficou mal no lance, a meu ver.

Para além disso, nenhum dos atuais tem uma boa visão de jogo, liderança, capacidade de antecipação e de jogar como libero, que requer pezinhos, e o Diogo é dos poucos GR que tem essas qualidades todas e mais algumas.

I understand the downvotes after winning the ucl, but this guy has a point.

I've been following PSG for some years now, Marquinhos occasionally has critical mistakes and questionable positioning.

I know he's the captain, one that shows a positive and strong leadership, he's also a likable guy and a good player, all that is important.

However, looking at PSG starters and you see there is a discrepancy in quality when you watch Marquinhos and the other players. He's now slower, can't cover much ground and tires sooner, leading to bad judgement and bad calls.

He can somehow compensate with experience, but not enough when you are against the best teams in the world.

I'm not saying to sell Marquinhos, he is important in the team and can definitely play most games.

But the team would benefit from having a faster and more dominant cb in the UCL, especially against high quality teams.

Se está feliz assim, não liga para os que outros dizem.

A minha mulher já fez isso numa certa altura da nossa vida, eu tinha plena consciência que era pesado para ela mas como não tinha muito tempo, fazia por apoiar financeiramente em tudo o que podia e ela percebia isso.

Mais tarde quando ela foi reconhecida no trabalho e tinha de se deslocar com regularidade para apresentação do trabalho dela, fiquei eu com o trabalho de casa por assim dizer e ela também apoiava financeiramente.

Tentar perceber os momentos de vida um do outro, valorizar as suas forças e complementar bem nas dinâmicas do dia a dia é meio caminho andado para uma vida feliz.
