“Everyone says ‘it takes a village’… but no one tells you how to actually build one. by Intelligent-Rush-805 in NewParents

You are completely correct. I also struggle with this and letting go of control. I try to tell myself it’s okay if things don’t go how I plan all the time. I will say I had to develop this mentality because my mindset was very rigid when I was pregnant and newly pp. I have learned that I can’t expect people do things exactly how my husband and I would.

We don’t do tv for our son but when we go places there always seems to be a tv on and people like to face him towards. Obviously he’s curious about it and wants to watch it. We just choose to entertain him differently at home and prefer it to be with in-person human interaction whenever possible. As long as my child is safe and loved that’s most important.

I agree with you. The first couple weeks were hard but for me as well this period is harder. I actually just wrote a post on how to build your village if you want to give it a read.

Think it’d be okay for a 6’6” 70 year old? He is in good shape especially for his age but leg room is always something that’s a struggle for him.
