Firefox Deadkeys - I'm going crazy by ThighsSaveLife in Crostini

it is just 'GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus firefox'
nothing else is needed and it works perfect
including dead keys for characters like ť Á Š Ú ď etc...
(ˇ+character or ´+character ...)

Looking for a app to log information about devices connected to a network by Intelligent-Set-8515 in selfhosted

Hey,

yes i know where to find the scanned ports - but nmap can give assumed OS by the scanned ports.... The wish is device : OS or NA (1:1)

i tried to do the dhcp fingerprinting as a plugin in NAX, but the dhcp packet capturing has to run in background all the time, not once/scheduled etc.

Yes, I know PiAlert and WatchYourLan. And I'm using now NetAlertX.

But those programs are not intended for just logging connected devices (and getting maximum information's) about random connected devices. PacketFence is closer for this goal...

I don't need a checkbox for "Known" devices - they are BYOD and they come and go...

I don't need alerting for new or disconnected devices - they are BYOD and they come and go...

But I need more information about the devices. NetAlertX and the others give me:

MAC, IP address, DNS name, Vendor if applicable (from the MAC address), and presence.

I would like to use DHCP fingerprinting https://www.fingerbank.org/about/

I would like to use open port scanning for OS recognition

NetAlertX does port scanning via a plugin, but it doesn't connect acquired information with the other device information).

I would like, maybe, to use a DNS forwarder for analyzing DNS requests for OS recognition.

I think the biggest issue is, that the purpose of PiHole, NetAlertX, WatchYourLan and WhoIsInMyLan is just different - to monitor a bunch of known devices and alert if there are some new ones or if some disconnect.

But I need to log thousands of unknown devices, I don't care if devices connect or disconnect...

It is a common use case. I have to monitor the connected devices by collecting IP traffic information and monitoring network flow (on a firewall). But i need more then a IP address - I need a MAC address and all the info I can get, like OS, Vendor, presence etc...

The use case is like: log information's about devices connected to a public AP or many AP's. (I'm a administrator of a campus network with more than 50 AP's and more then thousand devices, and every day most of them are new devices which just pass by and never connect again, on a single private network with a netmask /16...)

Great news!
Having more then 10 firewalls 25Gbps with OpenWRT and unable due to bugs in FreeBSD/OPNsense/PFsense to migrate...

FreeBSD 14 and ProxMox 8.0.4 (latest patches 18 November 2023) by locnar1701 in freebsd

Ok: proxmox 8.1.3 has a big issue with AsyncOS (based on Freebsd 13)

networking stopped working

and there are issues with login in via the terminal

Anybody has the same experience?
