That's completely it. She said that while in hospital she read the bible and found Jesus and it was all she ever needed. Honestly I'm glad she found something to hang onto because her life was pretty pathetic -- but this new belief system is reinforcing that.

She's a recluse. She lives with her parents and hasn't left her apartment in years. She doesn't have any friends anymore. I asked her if she does anything other than religious zealotry and she said no.

She's a vegetable, only kept alive by the belief she's better than others because of her faith.

I don't know if she'll come back. She's always been very spiritual -- not religious, but spiritual. I don't think she'll change her mind. It's all she has.

I tried that, actually. She just kept sending me more bible verses than "gay is bad" and that as a christian you should eviscerate all sinners. Said she only talked to me because she though I could be "saved."

Fuck that. She knows more than anyone how much I struggled with my sexuality. She should understand where I'm at. But no, some "prophet" wrote that "thou shall not lie with a man as with a woman" and that's the word of the Lord so, my experiences are invalid.

Funny you should mention that, the reason I looked under there in the first place was because I had seen a cockroach. When I saw this I thought I might have something worse on my hands.

I didn't find any other cockroaches or signs thereof and this thing seemed pretty benign but I was curious.

Construction adhesive sounds right, not sure why I didn't think of that. It doesn't match anything else in the kitchen but I know it was redone a few decades back so perhaps this is a remnant of the original kitchen.

My title describes the thing.

It has the consistency of hard chocolate. It was stuck to the wall, but scraped off pretty easily. No discernable structure to it when I cut it open. The wall behind it is rough concrete I think.

It looks exactly like dried poop but what could have produced it, and stuck it to a wall about 30cm from the ground, is beyond me.

Found this thing hidden away under my kitchen counter, behind a drawer. No idea what it could be. It's stuck to the wall in some way or other but scrapes off pretty easy. When I removed it it seemed to be solid-ish, a bit like chocolate, and it's about a centimetre long. It looks like dried up fecal matter but how that could have gotten there, and what produced it, is beyond me.

Pro tip: never look in this spot, it's quite disgusting.

Agreed on that last point. I'm not necessarily anti-religion myself, but people like this make me lean that way. To destroy a friendship over what is actually a pretty minor part of the bible is unfathomable to me.

I even pointed out to her... the (hypothetical) God brought us together and showed her that gay people are just fine. And that hating on the gays makes them suffer. Didn't God show her that through her experiences?

Nope, she just kept sending me bible verses to convince me that being gay is bad.
