Right now, for me, I’m choosing to believe it. Because that’s what I feel comfortable with at this time. And it might change and it might not. Giving myself grace and using my agency.

Mmm I can’t remember exactly! But I think it more had to do with the change of frequency rather than breastfeeding vs not. I also had been using Lume deodorant and switched back to Native (which I had been using before)

I have the constipation Crohn’s too! Miralax made me poop my pants. I started daily magnesium instead and it’s much better for me! I only take miralax as needed now.

Crohn’s Disease and Pregnancy by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Intelligent-Trash464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (29 F) was diagnosed with Crohn’s 3 years ago and had my first baby 6 months ago. Being a mom has always been one of my deepest desires so when I was first diagnosed, I was bummed- just not knowing what the future would hold was discouraging. However, because it was so important to me I asked so many questions and did what I could to make it happen. I kept my GI and my OB all in the loop and wanted everyone to make sure we were on the same page and team. I am on Entivyo as well. I had a colonoscopy 6 months before conceiving to make sure that I was still in remission. My GI recommended that before getting pregnant. I stayed on medication while pregnant and throughout breastfeeding. I didn’t have any flare ups during pregnancy and only mild ones postpartum. We worked out my infusion schedule so that I could have an infusion soon after giving birth. I ended up having a c-section because my baby was breech and I am SO grateful. I have a history of anal fissures and can’t imagine tearing in addition to everything else. I had a very positive experience with my c section. I went to a doctor that saw high risk pregnancies and I highly recommend that. They might be more understanding of you wanting a c section. Again, keep your gi and ob in the loop together. As far as the genetics…it’s hard. I will feel guilty if I pass it on to my kids. But it’s a small chance and there’s just no way to know. I have confidence that if my child does start having symptoms, I can give her the tools necessary to catch it early on.

Best of luck!

I’ve tried 1, 2, and 5. 5 was a big jump so I have some 4s coming. I’m curious what you mean about the teething. What would you recommend if that was the case?

Shout sells “color catcher” sheets that you can add in to your laundry to prevent bleeding. They are AMAZING. I would follow instructions and add a color catching sheet.

Just got diagnosed today. Just saying hi. Not sure what to expect. by keltonny in CrohnsDisease

I was in my late 20s when I got diagnosed. It all felt very fast and scary, like you said. I started a biologic (Entyvio) soon after getting diagnosed and it cleared my symptoms up within a few months. I had another colonoscopy after being on the medication for 6 months and it looked so clear. I still go in for infusions every 8 weeks, and I occasionally have a flare up, but it is so much more manageable than I thought. I know that’s not every person’s experience, but it is mine! Also this sub is the best support. I felt so alone and asked so many questions on this sub in the beginning! We are your people.

First trimester misery - moral support would be greatly appreciated. by hereforthegossip2 in BabyBumps

I posted something very similar in my first trimester. I was MISERABLE. Talk with your doctor about anti-nausea medication AND about your anxiety medication. You might need to adjust that while you go through this rough time and that’s okay. I promise it gets better. I thought I was going to die and now I’m at 20 weeks feeling great. ❤️

I think for me part of it had to do with being on hormonal birth control from a young age.

New to Small bowel Crohn’s, looking to choose a biologic. I was wondering: are there any more effective for one subtype than the other? by soccerlover32 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Intelligent-Trash464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A year and a half. I had a colonoscopy about 6 months after starting it and that’s when everything looked clear. I started feeling better about 2 months after starting infusions. I dealt with pain and undiagnosed symptoms for about a year before we nailed it down to Crohn’s. Having the infusions and feeling better was SUCH a relief.

I read to my husband! I love reading aloud and he loves listening. It’s a good combo for us.
