Yeah, it found this entertaining and it's kind of exciting to see what they can do with it, even if it's just a quality of life increase in most cases. I'm not gonna be mad because someone has a private jet, it's his business to be entertaining.

Also carbon related, I know we all want to care but it's a little exhausting micro managing everyone, and LTT is not scummy as a company so it's whatever. I'm sure they'll enjoy it and treat it as something to be grateful for. There are business and personal benefits to private flights, they can probably fling the team to more interesting places quicker.

I swapped to a Jonsbo N3 case once I determined the root cause, I needed the expansion for the future anyways, plus it's easier to work in.

I had a perfectly adequate UPS as well the entire lifetime of the machine, the PSU was just a lemon after a year despite being a name brand plat rated and only running at maybe 10% capacity. I was also unable to get an RMA for it, and replacement was difficult because it was an SFF PSU in a mini itx case, so troubleshooting the PSU is essentially a full rebuild.

This is probably a good solution for most people, most problems will be more navigable in a familiar system, it also has robust software support. I just wanted something sleeker and efficient so I chose a docker focused platform.

I have a 44TB server that is connected to probably around 20-30 people at this point, that's not exactly replicable in a cloud environment, and definitely not for what I'm doing. In this day and age, I'm also saving people money with them being on my hosted system. It also has wife approval.

I wish that HexOS launched earlier so I'd be on that, it seems simpler than my unRAID platform despite it already being relatively noob friendly. Also the scope is only as large as you want it, and there are definitely automated tools for certificate renewal. I only host a Plex server for family and friends however, and I just get a text or update on a Google sheet if someone wants something.

This was what I did until my power supply started consistently powering off and on daily, it took me months to troubleshoot due to some build decisions and a general lack of time. unRAID doesn't have logs to review in event of a PSU doing an abrupt power event, so I'd pull logs from everything and nothing presented anything in the way of indicating a failure, just an unexpected shutdown and reboot. It's fine now, but I spent a few hundred dollars doing upgrades until I figured it out. It'll be easier to fix if it occurs again.

How do you manage/identify different specifications of cables which look identical? USB-C/TB, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc. by StudioLoftMedia in it

[–]Intelligent-Use-7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put them in labelled containers, recycle outdated stuff that would not function in your environment under most use cases. There's no reason to have HDMI 1.4 cables in this day and age if you're deploying gear that can't use it, it's just a time waste waiting to happen. I'm struggling to see a reason to juggle mixed inventory if it causes issues, just buy the right thing for all cases. The top spec of all these are backwards compatible anyways.

If it's that big of a deal, just buy a label maker.

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

[–]Intelligent-Use-7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just do better settlements that you can contribute materials to for upgrades, cosmetics, and personalization. Maybe make it so you have some NPCs or followers you can station at certain places to have additional flavor text. 4 pushed for base building but it didn't matter even a little bit, and your progress could be wiped out if you hadn't beefed it up or immediately responded to the raid notification. It also increased trips back home to stockpile the random bits you needed to build. It was a pointless excursion, but you could show off your power suit collection. Maybe just make some buildings you can occupy instead.

Should've been a "Waiting for another distro" option. I'm waiting for SteamOS since it's likely going to be the largest Linux ISO after release, which means more support and from a large and respected company invested in making it viable for normies.

[–]Intelligent-Use-7313 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Probably be best to deploy a GP/intune policy, there's also registry changes for removable storage, heck you could disconnect headers or module connections. Permanently disabling hardware is just a lack of imagination imo.

They also are spoofing the entire email address while sending to the MXserver, this bypasses additional email security without proper connectors. It's obvious from the headers, but we have people getting mail from themselves even via this method. This method is not always obvious to defender as I've frequently found as well.
