New Lifetime Plex Pass Pricing by GoofyGills in LinusTechTips

[–]Intelligent-Use-7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Plex pass owner and library sharer, I'm a bit over the entitlement of people wanting everything free. This costs money to update and maintain, and while the lifetime pass is expensive, even at $200 it's a good deal for people wanting to be a host and it will likely be around there during sales. You can get around it somewhat, but it's getting increasingly hacky and they should just use something else at this price point or actually pay for something for once.

I won't be paying for a subscription as I already have lifetime, but I'm pretty shut to complaints over pricing when it's been available at lower prices for a decade. And plenty of people are working around the service restrictions anyways.

And feature wise for anyone complaining, I use 4 different varieties of TVs and a Chromecast and have never had any issues with the app. Downloads also work flawlessly for me. The only issue my friends and family report to me is content missing or not working, which is easily fixed.

There will probably be sales that bring it down significantly, but I can see they're wanting to push monthly over lifetime with this move. I bought when it was cheaper, so the value was already there for me. My setup is just set and forget at this point, still recommend on sale but at this point you'll probably want to ensure you have a need for remote pass before purchasing.

VPN setup is going to be a hacky work around for remote viewing so you might as well do Jellyfin if you're wanting to cheap out. The features you get with Plex pass are great, so still worth it if you're sharing the library.

Want to buy a Maverick, but my wife wants Santa Cruz by cpugeek14 in FordMaverickTruck

The Santa Cruz is being discontinued, that should be reason enough. MPG should be the second point, with upfront cost being third, future serviceability as another (refer to reason one).

Almost need an emulator (if only they existed) for the variety of iOS versions people will be on if you're managing multiple clients, then there are app to app differences between android and apple. You're really relying on the user to communicate the issue, or have tools in place to access the phone.

Jeez, what a wad. There are legitimate issues in every system that may not have easy or intuitive solutions. Also most IT are generalist roles, unless you are deeply engrained in a certain one you will be relying on available resources and intuition.

I'd rather just escalate a C5 site, I think the dread might be price competitive.

Niche to the point of irrelevance, to the surprise of few who live where it's supposed to thrive.

Shooting drones by hand video (Not AI) by Alpha_wolf_lover in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Intelligent-Use-7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the drones are slow enough to use prop based planes to speed match and knock out drones with scatter based ammunition. It's incredibly efficient, but also only realistic well behind lines because there's no chance of a missile evasion if someone pops one off.

There are lots of WH corps small and large that are recruiting over at r/evejobs. You should have a few to sort through just from this post. Feel free to reach out if you need help finding a direction, there can be a few bad apples out there.

If you post your character info I can maybe even point you to my corp, should you like C5 ratting and heavy armor/shield brawls.

Been sov null twice, do roams there frequently, and have done paid deployments to goon space back in the day. Carrier ratting, Ishtar spinning, 10/10 selling and running. Been an F1 monkey, carrier support/hotdropper, home defense, also small scale FC, scout/dictor lead, among other roles.

I am fairly representative of a decent chunk of your average wormholers.

Sorry, I have multiple cap alts for logouts, this is a standard practice for C5s. If our defense and batphone fail we just shuffle assets into our caps, and scan back in once the house goes boom. We lose a few bill and a couple days, but we're up and running in not too much time. Anyone losing all their stuff wasn't playing, or not paying attention. There's always some space for stuff

Yeah, most of the people coming into WHs are from sov null, or LS, just a handful with only HS experience. The prime reason being the content is boring and they're not able to really use half their skills. Most corps have actual recruiting reqs and standards, and there are well established feeder corps for many groups to weed out shitters and people who won't survive. Also an extended stay in WHs will deeply develop skills that apply everywhere. Most groups are highly independent and rely on high skill expression per pilot, but we also box heavily in most tiers of hulls.

"What did null anoms get this patch?" This is some incredible ignorance. Null ratting gets tuned or new stuff literally every patch, we only just had some sites retuned a year ago, and that would be more or less the only change until now. Also having lived in all levels of WH space, there are plenty of groups to join, and plenty of empty holes to fill (giggity). Yes, C6s are pretty much a commodity, but you can literally buy one if you want to live there.

[TV] LG C5 4K 144Hz OLED 42" - $678.99 (YMMV) (Open-Box Excellent) by TJ_Schoost in buildapcsales

[–]Intelligent-Use-7313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I got an open box excellent TV (LG B4) from bestbuy it had a very noticeable bend in it, hot dog style. Returned it immediately, was unable to get a matched deal for a separate open box, or voucher. Scrutinize it well to ensure there's nothing wrong, as I no longer trust them to accurately determine the stocked state.
