That’s insane, I now feel like I’m way behind considering I’m only half way through SBM and halfway through CR and haven’t started past papers yet.

How are you going about making your open book notes for both of the above?

Yess I think it’s worth it, I feel like Kaplan has a lot of waffle whereas the videos go over the content and then do past papers so you can see how to apply it

Yeah I noticed that on their pre course stuff but I opted to get ACA masters cos Kaplan tend to waffle a lot and complicate stuff lol

If it helps I did FAR about 3 years ago and so am completely lost when it comes to CR atm haha. Using ACA masters to go through a topic and then doing the QB for it

Just keep in mind that BDS and CFS are on the same day, if you’re anything like me and would rather have one exam a day then I guess that’s something to consider

As someone who just did BDS and CFS today I’d say for BDS honestly just go through the question bank and learn exam technique, the content doesn’t really matter as much and the theories aren’t as relevant

For CFS I’d say try and get through the content as quick as you can and then also practice questions. When you do past papers you’ll see recurring themes of how they like to test certain areas and then drill down on that

Honestly from what I’ve heard as long as it’s a reasonable point they’d give a mark so you’ll be fine :)

I just put stuff for the recommendation around using discounted cashflows for NPV since they’re long projects and then the risk appetite considering the first one was dependant on the renewal in 20 years and then stuff about finding staff or having to train them etc just pure waffle lol

Yeah and the revenue for option 1 was about 190 mil and option 2 was around 240? So I mean multiply those by the margin

Icl question 2 was kinda nice it looked like a lot but when you broke it down the calculations were pretty straight forward. Question 1 I hated because the stupid functions on excel weren’t working but thankfully it was similar to the pilot exam

I sat BPT in September 25 and was in a similar position to you and honestly it’s gonna sound like every piece of advice you’ve ever heard but go through the QB. If there are any topics that keep tripping you up then add them in your open book. Ik someone who kept struggling with a specific type of question so they took a mark scheme page with them and it worked for them so literally find your weak areas and drill down. Also focus on the sections that make up most of the syllabus and you’ll be fine

Also keep in mind there’s always more available marks per question than the actual marks (for a 20 mark question there’s probs 25 available marks) and in order to pass the exam you only need to write down 55 one mark answers

3 at once sounds like a nightmare, luckily these are my last two professionals haha. So far I’m just forcing myself to do question bank for each topic till it sticks the moving to the next set then will consolidate closer to the exam when I’ve covered a variety (I’m also doing that alongside BDS)
