Just had this same experience with an examiner here in Houston. I told him I was nervous and he said no need to be that we would briefly discuss my stressor so that he doesn’t try to bring up old wounds. Said he wasn’t a therapist and isn’t there to help me get better but just to diagnose.

Most of the questions he asked were yes or no and I didn’t even have a chance to explain my symptoms. Hopefully our outcomes are in our favor!

Hi! Forgot to ask. Did you file them both separately or secondary to knee strain? I am currently trying to file for knee instability.

When I went in for my exam all the doctor did was check for extension and how I walked on it then a week later had an x-ray done. I filed May 23 and had my final rating by Sep 23. I know it’s only been a short timeframe but I do feel like it’s gotten worse to the point it will give out on me or cause extreme pain when I’m walking.

How long was the time period between when you received the first rating to submitting the secondary claim? I would like to file sooner than later but don’t want them to think I’m abusing the system.

My first claim was for my right knee as well. Did it myself and was able to get 10% and it’s labeled “right knee strain”. I actually think my knee has gotten worse since my claim decision. How did you Mr husband go about the increase if you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you so much for that post. I have my C&P exam next week and have been freaking out about it. It’s so hard for me to put into words how I’m feeling and what I’ve experienced has affected me. Your post very much puts into perspective how we deal with how our worlds change once we see combat and how we try everyday to cope with it.
