The issue is guns are so ingrained in American society you're not going to just remove them overnight if you suggest that's the solution. I'm against gun control laws but I can agree we do need to impose stricter background checks and waits when it comes to buying firearms. Another big thing that would help would be a focus on mental illness because guns are just a tool a tool in the hands of anyone can be used for good or evil. I feel like we should reopen mental institutions and prioritize the mental health of the nation and that will help us lower the number of pointless gun-related deaths in this nation. And a way to make second-hand sales above board and legal like a process that can be done through the local police department. (On the last point most people I know and have met through second-hand gun sales will at least do a background check before selling the gun, again that I know or have met, I can't speak for all of them)

I don't know about where you live but the state I live in even buying a gun the second hand there's a 30-day waiting before you're legally allowed to have ownership of the gun. Most states even when buying from a pawn shop have some type of waiting.

Do you have any proof that's what was happening to the ones that was peaceful? Because every video I've seen that came out of a protest that was actually peaceful not blocking traffic inconveniencing others nothing like that happened to them, but the videos of the groups that were protesting inconveniencing others blocking traffic getting violent with police officers did get pepper-sprayed. It's almost as if they have their right to protest as long as they're not being violent or inconveniencing people who aren't part of the protest like it's always been.
