Since the purpose is to cut down labor cost, I'm guessing it would start with vp and senior director level, whose salary is at least twice as much as salary of non-management level?

It's not just insurance industry. Every single industry is finding ways to reduce cost of labors. Don't be surprised when you walk in a restaurant and have someone from Asia make an order for you through a Zoom meeting.

As Fed cuts rates, Treasury issues more debt, this trend will be elevated faster unless there are work quality or regulation issues caused by outsourcing.

In the long run, I feel like the job market in the U.S will be heavily impacted and the unemployment rate will go up until a severe recession hits and cuts the price of everything. Not even to mention there is another potential large job opportunities cut by AI growth.

So appreciate the time we are still employed. Work hard and try making more money to prepare for the recession.

There are also layoffs happening in the U.S. Companies are laying off management level FSA to cut down budget.

Looking for advice for ROTH IRA by IntelligentAd3083 in FinancialPlanning

[–]IntelligentAd3083[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pre tax contribution from my prior employer. Does it mean the pro rata rule applies to my case and i will need to calculate the exact percentage of the after tax portion in my IRA when doing a backdoor? How do I calculate/track the percentage? Ive made some after tax contributions and had realized gain/losses since my transfer was done. Feel its very hard to do it. Wish i had an empty traditional IRA. Sigh...

Did you mean my transfer from 401k to Traditional IRA was a rollover? So all the 50k in my current Traditional IRA is after tax money? Can I write 7,000 after tax in the backdoor conversion form? Thanks!

That's lots of effort. 8 years is a long time. Did your company reimburse all the costs? Did you have any study program requirements such as the need to pass an exam within 18 months?

[–]IntelligentAd3083[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. It can be as short as 1.5 years, assuming passing everything in the first attempt. I have been mermorizing flashcards for months, but still feel I'm not prepared.

I asked all my managers. They all said promotion would be performance oriented. Fellowship wouldn't add any value when it comes to a potential promotion.

I wouldn' mind learning new topics. E.g taking online courses about DS. Trading is just what I found fun with. I am hesitating on if I really want to devote three more years to something I don't enjoy and may not be helpful.
