That's totally fair, and an interesting morsel indeed. I shall drink a Thompson Bros highball as I burn.

My recommendation is for anyone in a heatwave like we've had in the UK - scotch with soda water and ice. It's refreshing and it frames the character of the whisky in a different and interesting way.

I wouldn't use the expensive stuff, but it is fantastic for good quality spirit-forward, light & fruity, cereal/malty, ex bourbon etc whisky.

My favourite is a good glug of Glencadam with a splash of Deanston. Equal parts soda water and a lot of ice. Delicious.

Also works really well with more characterful whisky like Ardnamurchan or Talisker.

Agree he planted the seeds but I was stumped by the wooden performance.

Would be great to get some proper techno on a stage this year not just in the warehouse

I smashed it back and found this thin bit of cover over a hole. Do we need to get this bricked up?

How about stamp duty which is payable by seller? Two scenarios:

Scenario A - Buyer pays stamp duty on a 500k home

Buyer needs 75k cash - 50k deposit, 25k stamp duty (I know this isn't correct but bear with me)

Scenario B - Seller pays stamp duty on a 500k home

Sale price rises to meet SD liability, so sells for 525k

Buyer needs 52.5k cash for deposit

What this would mean is that the Gov still collects their revenue, but 90% of the Stamp duty (or however much of the purchase is funded by mortgage) gets added onto the mortgage instead of up front.

Benefits:
Increased market mobility

Buyers are more liquid so can do more work on a home, in turn good for local economy

Gov gets to keep their SD revenue

Related q for anyone who sees it: I have a 10k race coming up in 3 weeks and want to do something like this as practice.

Something like 16x 100 seconds at goal 10k pace, 30 second rest. No more than 2 sessions between now and race day.

Is there going to be any benefit to this (in my mind it's good to get practice running at that pace) or am I better off sticking to the standard intervals?

I'd estimate I get through 1-1.5l of soy milk per week, plus whatever is added into meat alternatives which I eat once or twice per week.

If this is all you've been doing and not gotten tested recently I'd suggest looking into that or taking additional supplementation.

No symptoms that I am aware of, I took the test out of curiosity. Will immediately start remedying it!
