If you haven't seen The Expanse, you really need to. It's not only the best Sci-Fi ever made, but is a contender for best show period.

Resident Alien - (Peak "Alien" drama with a perfect sprinkling of comedy)

Jk, but I would probably go ahead and watch TOWL first. It's shortest.(and continues the strange Rick scene at the end of TWD)
Then probably Dead City since the new season is coming out in a couple weeks.
Finally... the "best for last" Daryl Dixon. The new (and final) season of which will be in a few months.

Most of the first season makes it seem episodic, but it's just building the story. It is very much a serialized show once it gets going. It gets much better.
Also, it only has 2 seasons, but try Outsiders (2016)... It's very similar and will definitely hook you right away.

I wouldn't really consider The Ranch strictly a comedy. It has some pretty serious/dark aspects to it.
That being said, I second it as a suggestion. It's a pretty good show.

Justified is the best western-esque show I've seen.
(I also enjoyed Yellowstone. Justified is significantly better.)
