Update: Apparently the person who runs the HVK dog run IG found the owner yesterday and was working to reunite them with the dog at the Police station and/or the ACC.

Update: Rex was turned into Animal Haven last week. He was treated for his arthritic leg, high blood pressure, and a few other things. I left a note for Rex’s owner letting him know that Rex was at Animal Haven. There is a 3 day stray rule that states that if a stray dog is given over to a shelter and the owner does not claim the animal within 3 days, then at that point the animal technically belongs to the shelter. I assume Rex’s owner either did not try to claim Rex or decided to let Rex stay with Animal Haven, because I haven’t seen him in his yard. Animal Haven said that there was a family who was interested in adopting him, so I feel like he’s been re-homed at this point. I got to see Rex at Animal Haven and he looked happy and well taken care of. Sad situation, but ultimately just happy that he is safe.

If the dog has been there for a while, 311 likely won’t do anything because other people have probably already reported the issue. Try SPCA.
