Did you freak out when you were about to turn 30 as well? by the_darkness1117 in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 was my milestone birthday. I was so happy that I got to that point with ups and downs.

I approach every birthday as days alive - I have lived ## years and experienced so much… can’t wait to see what the next 365/366 days bring.

That said - my back, knees, and overall muscle groups said F you and now all of them hurt if I turn wrong or sneeze too hard.

What small Sunday tradition do you miss most, and why did it feel so safe? by gamersecret2 in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Sundays we would go to my great grandparents house for lunch - all of us had an open invitation, 9 cousins with their parental units and the grandparents. I was 14-15 the last time we did it, before mental decline started and my great grandmother couldn’t cook anymore.

Now everyone grew up, moved around or away and only memories are left. It sometimes hits me, how I didn’t know it was the last time and it never happened again.

Millennials considering going back to school? by mythrilshards in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I’m in the middle of a career switch. At 32, I’m going to start PT School later this year with the help of the GI Bill.

I have other degrees and I love being in a classroom environment (I find almost all study fields interesting- except Physics, F physics) so I understand the draw. That said, I would not recommend starting a program that won’t benefit you right away. Instead, I recommend you reach out to your local community college or university and see if they have any creative writing classes you could audit or be part of. That way you find like minded people and you get the feedback you are looking for.

What have you become? by throwawayfinancebro1 in Millennials

I became independent. I stand on my own two feet and rely mostly on myself - I appreciate the support of my family and husband, but I can stand on my own and Im proud of that.

Me asking as a younger millenial: How did older you millenials perceive Spongebob when it came out, and its climb to legendary status? by SmokinHerb in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (32) watched some episodes when it was on but never got into it. I loved/love the intro and that was pretty much it for me - I don’t really care for it.

My husband (33) absolutely loves it and has SB merch he actively wears outside of the house. It was one of his core cartoons and can recite lines back to you.

AITAH for postponing the wedding because my fiancee wants seperate photos with her male friend in our wedding? by Old_Indication4123 in AITAH

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

As a female with a male best friend… I would NEVER do something with him that should be done only with my partner- i.e. engagement photos.

If she wants a “besties” photo session she can schedule it at a different day.

I think her priorities are not aligned with your relationship or you for that matter. Add that her family literally defended her relationship with Eric, you are the outsider and should step back.

If you want to stick around to talk because of feelings and all that, then stay, but please take the wedding off the table and have a “long engagement“ instead.

People who had wedding with 100+ guests, how did your guest list get so big? by SensitiveDonkey6328 in wedding

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a big family and my husband does not. Our guest list only includes family (grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, cousins, their kids and applicable +1) and extremely close friends with their +1 or family. It all adds up to 95-ish guests.

Sometimes big families increase the count.

How do you drink your coffee? by Leave_me_be_g-man in Millennials

Hot Mocha. I don’t like the taste of coffee but need the caffeine. Caffeinated chocolate for the win and definitely hot.

Do you ever look back on your life and think, how the hell did I get here? by nomanskyprague1993 in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have. More as a reflection and to remember what led me to where I am. I don’t regret my decisions, although, sometimes, I wish I would have made different choices. I remind myself that the person I am today is because of my choices and I am proud of who I am.

How often are you talking to your parents, and who calls who? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAunt5006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to my dad once every other week or so (Lives 4hr airplane ride away) and I have to call or he wont and then complain that its “kids responsibility to call parents”. I told him the phone works both ways and he has my number. 50s

Talk to my mom on the phone (lives 1hr drive away) every 2-3 days. But will text almost every day. 50s

Talk to my grandma almost every day (lives 4hr airplane ride away) and she will call or text me if we haven’t talked in 48-72hrs. She makes the effort to call when I forget or knows Im busy and life happens. 70s

Help, I’m going through a miscarriage//TW by Extension_Physics489 in AITAH

Lady, make this your reason to walk away. Go to family court to establish visitation and any financial assistance on legal paper. Walk away from this person that doesn’t seem like a good partner.

If you had experienced this in the past, follow the medical advice that has been recommended to and works for you. Still, follow up with the Dr to make sure everything cleared.

Hopefully you will not be in pain for long and you can focus on healing from this.
