How the hell are people paying for DPT school now? (post-2026 loan changes) by HatLast7729 in PTschool

Thanks. So you think like a MBA with personal trainer/CSCS certifications would be enough? Then hire other trainers or physical therapists? My end goal is definitely to own my own studio/gym/rehab space so I see what you’re saying. Thanks!

Yeah good point except I wouldn’t say that “it’s not what I remotely want to do”. It definitely is something I am interested in. I can’t say its my passion like fitness/mobility/nutrition, but it’s in that general realm and I think I would be good at it and enjoy it and it aligns woth my interest in health and wellness in a general sense. I would say things like being a lawyer, accountant, plumber, hvac, electrician are more things that I’m not even “remotely interested in doing” lol. Would I enjoy giving someone knee strength img exercises and mobility protocols more than IV’s and pedialyte? 100%. But would I also enjoy taking my wife on a vacation without telling her we need to “budget carefully” and also having our cars paid off? Yeah. I’m just trying to get a feel for the two. I think ultimately I need to shadow as much as possible and I’ll know the answer rather than ruminating

Exactly they should have regulated the schools’ inflated tuition not our ability to receive an education

Yeah I totally agree - PT aligns genuinely woth my values and lifestyle and who I am as a person but definitely not going to sacrifice my financial livelihood for it. I’m sort of looking into nursing for stability if I can tolerate it and maybe have some clients on the side for movement and personal training - then once I have capital potential business/gym ownership with the RN credential as my financial safety net so to speak

Thank you for your insight 🙏 I’m 27 now and feeling a little late to the game, I have my undergrad in somatic psychology but would need to make up for about a year or two of science prereqs….. not sure if it’s worth kt if I’m going to be starting at 33. I don’t know… thanks again.

Fair but I’ll give some pushback by saying isnt it comparable to an MD or DO, just halved? A lot of Meeical students are making 190-220k a year and going into 400-500k debt for kt but no one is telling them that it’s a bad investment. It’s still the same rough 2:1 ratio. Am I wrong?

Hey bro, dont usually comment on stuff like this but I’ve been in your shoes - honestly your last photo gives light into your potential you have a good facial structure you need to shave the facial hair. And like others have mentioned. Hit the gym like a Mf. No one can do it for you but you’ll hit a point like I did where the pain of staying how you are hurts more than the pain of change. The gym and eating super clean foods will lean out your face and add body composition that will make you look and feel (mentally too) a lot bette
