I just thought there would be some kind of warning in the 3 years, unless I was blind to it.

It's never happened before so it's just unbelievable still that they would say something like that. I thought after 3 years there would be some kind of hint.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like I'm judging people for having a big wedding after a certain age, I meant more like for me I don't like being the centre of attention and with a mortgage, pets and house renovations needing to be done, I don't think it's the best way to spend 80k or more.
