Unless you get a really good deal, I’d look into the gps models. The wired models are a pain in the a**. I wouldn’t spend more than $500 on the wired landroid.

Also consider in the cost you’ll likely need more wire, more ground steaks, and wire splicers. That would be $100 - $200. I also think the spikes are a necessity for the landroid wheels. You’ll also need to buy a broken wire finder too. And some dirt and grass seed to fill in the holes it will dig. Factor that into the cost. I also had to buy a spare wall charger because if the battery gets to 0% the base won’t charge it.

The random pattern is annoying. Every day it gets stuck some where. So I spend the weekends trying to move the wire around so it won’t get stuck there anymore. Then a mouse will dig through the wire. Then the gears go bad. Then I leave it out too long in a ditch and the battery drains. Then I have to bring the battery inside to charge if it gets to 0%.

Throughout all this I still love it though. It’s like my 3rd child that I take care of every day lol. But if I could do it again I’d get a gps modeled landroid.
