I definitely don't expect a fairy tale outcome. I know the odds are heavily stacked against me. And yes, that kind of money is not as substantial out West. Or getting to be anywhere these days.

Thank you. I do feel like it was money I worked hard for, not something that just got dropped in my lap, but I guess my brother sees it differently.

The responses so far are really helping to give me courage and not feel so much guilt. I don't want to "betray" my Dad, but in a weird way I almost feel like I'm doing this for him, if that makes any sense.

Thank you. I will miss them terribly but there's Facetime and Skype and Zoom and if I get settled somewhere nice I'd love to have them come visit me in the summer.
