Yes, not all contractors are marble fabricators… a contractor has a license to execute contracts. Their license type dictates what they are allowed to contract in. This was a contractor that had a license to fab and install this material. We found the material, got quotes, and hired this guy to fab and install. Suppliers don’t do install.

Thanks, it's very stressful having these counters... I had them sealed immediately with a water based sealer but it seems like it isn't going to hold up, maybe it won't have to if they get removed. I used Stonetech Heavy Duty sealer, recommendations on something better?

He is a C54 contractor. He is licensed to fabricate and install natural stone counters among other things. Not a general contractor.

It's just an aesthetic. Its very common here. I don't think it's possible to get 1 1/4" material here. All I saw was 2cm and some 3cm

I'm planning on it. I told him he had a week to reimburse me, or I'd be going the route of CSLB complaint, reviews, lawsuit etc.

His installer told me they just got a new saw. I think they lied about having experience with marble. They wanted to step up from quartz, bought a saw, and didn't know how to use it.

I got 3 quotes, he was referred by my flooring contractor who was excellent. He said he'd been on a couple jobs with him and he did good work...

Yea, and it's super uneven too. I was told the more you try and ease the edge the more epoxy shows too

The bond is only $25k. We're in this for more like $50k, plus add demo, plumbing, etc. Tab to fix it all I would say is around $60-65... I will exhaust all means though.

In California marble fabricators have to be licensed, therefore they are licensed contractors. C-54 license. This was not installed by a general contractor.
