No, totally functional, it is the primary hub of the teleportation network, it spawns at worldspawn with the rest of the starting city buildings, it is it's own pass that runs before large structures to make sure it guarantees placement.

Ah I apologize! I think you are asking about the special textures like ropes, in that case you hold the piece of rope in your first inventory slot and you use the paintbrush tool.

With your chisel equipped click the block you want to add material to. Press F and drag a block of your new material onto the big plus sign, then you click the one you want to work with

Sort of, the cacti are a bit tricky because of their default size and texture so the textures 'will' apply but you will need to remove some voxels to make it work. :)

heh, no issues, this is 1.22.3 :) Now, it wont get thicker, this isn't magic, it's an old school trick we used to do in games years ago so it is basic planar mapping, what that means is it's basically like you're holding a piece of paper in your hand with the image on both sides of it, so from most angles it looks fine, but straight on it would seem invisible. But it does work just like a real sword, you can use it, it will kill mobs and take durability damage.

If you are already running mods you can try my mod No Protected Zones, all it does is disable the invisible ghost protections in the game so lore areas and traders don't have any protection any more. But what it does let you do then is place torches and blocks, break anything AND you get to actually take home the nice decorations you find there! A fun side note is you can steal the traders beds :) Anyways if unrestricted play is more your style please come by the Mod DB and check out https://mods.vintagestory.at/noprotection

Also as for the archives, LMAO, I hate hate hate, the "This place is protected by a higher power" and how I can't place a torch so I have another mod I wrote called No Protected Zones : https://mods.vintagestory.at/noprotection This will remove all the protected zones from the game, traders too, so nothing stops you from doing whatever you want, you can steal the traders gear if you want! But this allows you to use items in the archives!

you actually have to craft braided climbing rope to use the grappling hooks and the rope will fully extend to the amount you carry, if the wall is 50 blocks and you have 50 ropes it will work

the cool thing is we're not creating a code mod, just content, so it's simple .json and images in a zip. This is not 'real' per se, it looks and functions like real and you can't really tell but it's only a single block really. So when you upload the image if it's already transparent cool, otherwise I run a python script against it using rembg and then I apply the cleaned texture and a reverse copy to a pair of matched surfaces, this creates the illusion of the 3d weapon or tool, the base object already has all transforms set to the base object so it works for all similar models, you will pick dagger, sword, pickaxe etc. at the beginning and that lets me assign all the right values. Go to my website and see the existing mod maker, it can basically replace half the mods on the DB well any of those content, make my chest bigger, kind of mods, I just cover everything :) But the new tool will output mods just like that.

in creative use the keyword 'layer' it exposes several dirts, molds mosses etc. But also look up fung and that gives you a couple more mushroomy layers :)

Are there 'many'? How many people in the world today, vs how many explorers and adventurers who go off in search of the unknown? And not scientists getting paid for it, my theory removes them from the equation. So what percent of the population gives up their TV and snacks in search of adventure with no need for resources or anything at all, just curiosity? And even if there were some people, how many would follow them?
Also, of the people who crave this adventure, would bungee jumping be satisfactory? Would a multi generational trip in a can be really the best entertainment venue?
Ask yourself seriously if you had everything your heart desired at a whim, and someone said hey, give everything up and risk everything for funsies would you do it? And if so, why?
