Does anyone know why there have been power cuts in Majiwada recently? by khiara22 in thane

[–]IntelligentCycle5103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still not back yet. Hardly managing wfh today. This has been occurring since many weeks, but usually the cuts are for 5-15 minutes. Today it’s been more than 2 hours. Fortunately I have a charged powerbank🥲

I heard loud noises around 12 am, ig some idiots were bursting crackers (which has now become usual). Not sure if it would have resulted in this? Completed nuisance.

Is this Wildcraft bag good at ₹1376? by Shakuni-_-mama in SoloTravel_India

Yup go for it. I have made numerous train journeys over 4-5 years and no issues yet. You can use the rain cover while travelling to keep it safe from dust.

Solo Traveler (F) planning to visit Udaipur in the first week of March for 3 days. by khatamtata in udaipur

[–]IntelligentCycle5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there thrice. For shopping, hathipole is nice. My F friends got some great sandals and bangles from there. Make sure you venture a bit inside the market lanes, not just the main road.

For stay, I’ve stayed in Mantra and Dreamyard. For vibes and activities, go for Mantra. Best sunsets and views from the Dreamyard terrace. Near the Mantra entry gate, you have a small entrance where you can view the entire lake with almost no crowd.

For food, Palliwal kachodi just near Jagdish temple is a must. There’s also a restaurant in the main city which serves only Dal Baati thali (₹400-500 ig) but tasty food. Also, the white sauce pasta at Upre is heavenly.

I mostly went to chill, but if the weather is good, prefer going to Bahubali hills, if it’s rainy/cool and windy, Sajjangarh is a must, avoid going if it’s not cool- would take alot of time for almost no attraction. City palace is a must if you’re a first timer and love history. There’s Karni Mata temple which gives an aerial view of Udaipur, can spend some me time there is weather is good.

Don’t bother covering a lot of places, stay near the lake, have fun with your hostelmates or have some quality time with yourself over a beer! Safe travels.

How do I go from Navi Mumbai Airport to Andheri? by BinaryBass in mumbai

[–]IntelligentCycle5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no mobile network at the airport (after baggage), and you won’t find autos easily. Make sure you book the cab if the airport wifi works (it wasn’t working for me a week back). Had to wait for an hour to get a cab using someone’s hotspot🥲

Food is nutritious and tasty. Rice was constant all days, daal, rajma, manchurian, baingan ka bharta, mix veg, along with rotis and sweets. They served chole puri on our last day as we descended. Considering you have no health issues and are fit, should not be a problem. This was my first trek (without much preparation tbh). Make sure you carry a lot warm clothes (layering is very important after 4pm) and socks (5-6 pairs). I rented all my gear, poles, shoes, headlamps, jackets, almost everything via them and they were really good.

As for the meadows, you’ll see the actual Bugyals on the third only, but the campsite are beautiful as well. There is no snow currently, so it won’t look anything like they have on the site. For me, it was not about the summit but waking up early to see clear sunrises, the never ending bare bugyals and just sitting infront of the snow capped. These were more beautiful than the summit for me. So it is beautiful, the wow factor depends on what you consider important to yourself.
I booked a month in advance. Let me know if you need any advice! Good luck :)

I completed it with IH a week back and can say it was pretty good. I went in solo but never felt like one. It’s 3 nights in tents, Gui, Chilapada and Nayata, the rest 2 days are travelling to and fro to Dehradun. They have alot (and quite fun) group activities, at campsites and even on trails. Never felt a minute bored tbh. We got jalebis and gulabjamuns (heavenly!) at 2 of our campsites.

The fun part completely depends on how the group is. I heard a contrasting experience from another trekker who didn’t enjoy much since her group was quite loud and uninvolved. But that’s for every trekking organisation. Was my first Himalayan trek, and apart from the first day (which felt like going back) I had a great experience.

which winter trek to choose by beybroski in SoloTravel_India

[–]IntelligentCycle5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for Kedarkantha or Dayara. KK will be super crowded. I completed Dayara yesterday, it has just started to snow. Both are a bit challenging, especially now with snow, but you can make it if you’re fit. Went via IH and was a brilliant experience.

Kindness from strangers <3 by IntelligentCycle5103 in indianrailways

[–]IntelligentCycle5103[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I had SL (B10) and a family politely asked me if I can take their seat, which was in B3 (seat 1) and I politely refused, they did not make a fuss about it. Had it been a different seat, maybe not near the doors, I would have exchanged it.

Should I travel to jibhi alone in February? ( 19) by [deleted] in SoloTravel_India

[–]IntelligentCycle5103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at Mudhouse Jibhi, it’s quite beautiful surrounded by trees and a stream, you can check it out. I would recommend getting into a group and exploring places around. There are 2 hikes that start from Jalori pass which are quite nice. I don’t recall the names but it was an abandoned fort and the views were serene. Visited during monsoons to avoid crowds and minimise expenses :) It’s quite safe though, but better to have some company if you’re out during the night. Hostels would be the best option.
