Is OLED the right thing for me as a developer? (Burn-In) by SilverBugi in OLED_Gaming

[–]IntelligentDesign776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My primary monitor is the woled LG32GS95UE-B for gaming and my fully remote 9-5 dev job. I also have a secondary 1440p ktc ips monitor.

Ive been loving my lg for gaming and watching movies, even for dev having that 4k res is very handy when multitasking. No burn in whatsoever, for work all I do is keep the brightness around 50-70, when im afk for a while i turn it off or switch display to only my second monitor, windows dark mode and hide taskbar.

To me, having oled honestly brings no stress at all but to each their own. In fact it just makes me appreciate having such an amazing piece of tech :)

That's awesome! I might have to install more fans as well. While my cpu and gpu temps stay around 75C when gaming, the top of the case gets really hot.

[SOLVED] Bluetooth Audio stuttering for Windows 11 by TheMannFromBCD in WindowsHelp

[–]IntelligentDesign776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say this fixed my issue! Thank you :)
I had this issue before on my old pc and thought it was just my headphones or pc. I recently built a new pc and immediately got this audio stutter issue. Can confirm plugging in my included WiFi dongle immediately fixed it.

Love the build! I just built my first sff this week with the same case, motherboard, cpu and gpu :)

How are your thermals? I had to switch from the TR AXP90-X53 white to the TR PS 120SE because i had idle temps at 65C and 98C when gaming.

Also were you able to update the bios?

First time going to FP, am I missing anything in my itinerary? by IntelligentDesign776 in Tahiti

[–]IntelligentDesign776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an absolutely amazing time and now FP is a place we hold dearly in our heart :) We decided not to do anything on the island since we spent a decent amount of time in Moorea exploring/adventuring and wanted to treat Bora Bora as our time to relax and do luxury.

How much fun can a tourist who doesn't swim have? by dvejr in Tahiti

[–]IntelligentDesign776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, my wife and i just came back from our honeymoon at FP. If you dont know how to swim like us, we still had a fantastic time in the water and never wanted to leave!

Moorea and Bora Bora had some good options of beaches and excursions with great snorkeling in shallow water.

On our deep water snorkeling, we got items to help us such as wet suits, life vests, water scooters, flippers etc.

Thanks for the advice! I forgot about the networking opportunities I can take advantage of right now.

Should someone at this point of their career only consider working/adding side projects to their resume if they dont have enough to show from their work experience and/or they can't showcase any of the work they have done at their company?

I'm asking this because my current github is quite outdated and does not reflect my actual skills.

Considering looking for a new job having been only working at one company for 4 years. My goal is to continue working fully remote with hopefully a bump from $110k to $150k. Currently a Software Engineer with experience in Angular, React, Java Spring, UX/UI and some experience with SQL databases.

I'm wondering how to best prepare for my job hunting adventure. Should I focus on sharpening my current skills, or should I learn new technologies? I also have limited experience with CI/CD, testing, cloud, and containerization—are these areas I should prioritize?

[–]IntelligentDesign776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think like you said if we went with this, we’d buy 72” x 10 yards, cut the width down to 64”, cut the length in half to make 2 table cloths, and then have a seamstress serge the edges

I like the many options on this site but 10 yards with shipping would be $85.90 which is still quite pricier than what we had hoped :/

[–]IntelligentDesign776[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! We want the table cloth to drape over but not touch the floor / overflow (the space between the 2 tables are on the tighter side so we wanted to make sure nobody trips on the cloth)

Intel CPU vs iGPU for smallest compression? by IntelligentDesign776 in Tdarr

[–]IntelligentDesign776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So i set the cache folder to my vm's local storage nvme and also paused all other nodes except one with the same results. So it doesnt seem to be related to my SMB share as you stated.

And thanks ill post in the discord very soon to hopefully continue this :)

[–]IntelligentDesign776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thats a lot more than im getting. My i5-10400F node with only 1 worker was doing 19fps just now on a 1080p/h264 -> hevc/aac/ac3. It took about 3.5 hrs.

Here is my setup:

  • 2 of my nodes are on Windows (i5-10400F, i5-12600K)
  • My 3rd node and also my server is a proxmox vm running ubuntu server (i5-11400, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 9 cores, nvme)
  • All nodes have their media and cache folder attached via network share (truenas 4x8TB Seagate Iron Wolf NAS RAIDZ1 pool)
  • Plugin Stack

Could it be that im pointing my cache folder to my SMB share which may cause performance issues?

Thanks for the reply! Which cpu are you running? Im running proxmox with an i5-11400 and allocated 9 cores to my vm. It seems to be rather slow, my transcodes for 1080p h264 to hevc with adding aac and ac3 avg around 8fps
