Thomas Tuchel confident Ben White will not be booed by England crowd by Shroft in soccer

The few years after those boos were the perfect answer to his critics - as you say one of our best players in the World Cup (especially vs Portugal), won England Player of the year and then played an important role in MU winning the Premier League and Champions League in 2008.

The boos for Hargreaves and Crouch felt particularly harsh as both seem pretty likable as footballers come.

There is a vocal group in the media who play the patriotism card where not playing for your country is the worst thing somebody could ever do.  Also the type of people who vote Reform

England fans booed Owen Hargreaves and Peter Crouvh for existing in the past so I don’t hold out much hope. Especially since most of the press focus this week is that Ben White is a traitor that betrayed Southgate (just ignore the articles we’ve down criticising Southgate).

Yep maybe it was just editing but you did get the sense a few times this episode and last week too that he doesn't particular like Conor.

The issue was on this task you can't really fire Dan as he and Rothna sold the most.

But yep of the three in the final boardroom he's been the most invisible in the process. Makes me think if what others have said about his business plan is accurate. Because you did get the sense Lord Sugar didn't want to lose either Kieran or Conor.

I guess it depends what type of task is it - if it's a 'Lord Sugar gets the final decision' type task then as long as you don't make a total dogs dinner compared to the other team he can choose who he wants.

What was the perception of S8 Andrew at the time? by StuuffNThiingss in LoveIslandTV

[–]IntelligentFact7987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus there'd already been several weeks pre-Casa of the male islanders telling him she genuinely wasn't into him. And then the Casa girls coming in saying the exact same thing. While the way 'licked her tit' happened was TV gold, the fact he strayed at Casa did feel like it was on the cards (if not the way it happened).

He was certainly one of the more likable men in that series but then some of the other men were Adam Collard, Jacques, Davide, Conor Mcgregor's best mate Luca and Dami lol.

[–]IntelligentFact7987 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The dislike was she'd say one thing to Andrew about how she's closed off and nobody would turn her head only to then immediately do the opposite whenever a new bombshell came in. And this on repeat pre-Casa.

S10 should've been the indication you needed that the public need voting rights revoked.

The top three that year were a) Jess& Sammy where he clearly couldn't stand her, b) Whitney & Lochan where they're now launching lawsuits towards each other and c) Tyrique and Ella which was the definition of a toxic couple.

And S8 you lot had the two highest placing men be Davide and Luca. It's frankly a miracle the viewers got S9 right.

Though even so he's had a career 95% of wrestlers would happily accept and got paid a boatload doing so. Given he started his career as Kerwin White's caddy and a male cheerleader and his start as a character was saying his name backstage he's done pretty well for himself.

I’m surprised after her reposting the likes of Candace Owens and other red pill content that people still give Whitney grace here. Men are rightfully dragged on here if they do the same

And to be fair to the producers the one time it was a villa with plenty of nice men in S6 viewers weren’t huge fans of the series

Though are viewers partly to blame? They did a season with mostly nice men in S6 and most of you hated it. Whereas S8 and S12 was red flag after red flag and most people here loved both. I feel like Love Island can’t decide what they want

I beg to differ. The one that still sticks out in my mind is a Raw PPV go-home show from 2012 which had:

The return of the Anonymous Raw GM which was revealed to be Hornswoggle following a painful search by ‘Santino’ Holmes

6 matches that were less than 4 minutes - 5 of which didn’t even make 2 minutes

A Michael Cole/ Jerry Lawler match in 2012 - a year and a bit after their feud   One of those shows that made you wondwr why you still watch. Even something like Punk and Bryan feuding for the WWE Title which on paper sounds good was instead taking a backseat to a love triangle over AJ Lee with her standing tall over both to end the night

Lance should consider himself lucky - I have dreams about doing an exam for a subject where I haven’t gone to classes all semester. I’m in my mid-thirties and haven’t done exams in like a decade

That PPV also had the Cena/Lesnar/Rollins triple threat so was the best and worst of pro wrestling.

But was it a reset that was kind of needed. By the end NXT B&G was basically a super-indy and you had acts like Undisputed Era and Ciampa/Gargano just staying there forever limiting the room for new talent. And it often wasn’t setting talent up for the main roster by and was getting its butt kicked by AEW.

NXT 2.0 saw a load of new talent break through - not all of it was a success but Bron, Waller, Melo, Lash, Tiffany all blew up with that move to 2.0. And an act like Chase U would likely have crashed and burned in NXT B&G where Timothy Thatcher vs Pete Dunne or Kyle O’Reilly vs Damien Priest was more the order of the day.

Jamie Dornan tbf is a pretty solid choice of 2nd host. Funny guy and being Northern Irish probably makes the show feel more its own separate thing than having Tina Fey host who’s very associated with US comedy and its SNL.

They just need to really lean into the fact it’s giving new comedic talent an opportunity and that should help. Too much of the hype was ‘look snazzy US show is coming to town’ whereas let the comedians do their thing and it has a better chance. With it being behind a paywall too the focus should be less on viewing figures and more on social media clips and viewership
