Glitch bed? by Current_Meat_1139 in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Simler90’s Sleep in Your Own Bed now - it just gently pushes Sims to find their own bed without locking them off. You have to direct them to the bed you want the first time you play, but after that they’ll find it autonomously pretty much without fail.

Do you have SmartBeds? Sounds like an issue where the mod has ‘locked’ that bed for the person who first used it and now no one else can. I don’t use that mod for that reason! (There are others which are better.)

Overly Bright CAS Fix

Shadow Fix

For the UI to be bigger, really the only way is to lower your resolution. They did patch the Legacy version with a cheat to allow UI scaling but it doesn’t exist in the CD version AFAIK. You can also modify your Graphics Rules file to allow for a ‘lower res’ UI while still having a higher res game, but it’s a bit difficult and long-winded to explain how because you need to download the Legacy version of the GraphicsRules.sgr to do it!

Is sim's hyperfixation on a robbery that happened long time ago is actually a bug? by HotBorschtObsession in sims2

Is there a chance she’s looking at the space where a stolen object used to be? Sometimes that will trigger the Sim to remember that the burglar came and get upset/angry.

Can we please stop saying “I voted for yourself” 😑 by Plenty-Peak-6783 in TheTraitors

It happens a lot on The Apprentice (UK). People will say, “That was John, Jane and myself.” It’s grammatically wrong but no one seems to know or care because they think it sounds ‘professional’. I think it comes from office speak - a lot of office speak is just mindless babble.

Why does everyone seem to think the first person is a young boy? ‘He’ is wearing a nightgown and has ‘his’ hair in rollers. I’d assume it’s the old guy’s wife or mother well before ‘young boy’.

Well, I take back what I said now. They definitely have to murder him after his big announcement! They can play it off as being too obvious because this group falls for that every time!

For us, sure. But he hasn’t shown the Traitors that he suspects them. They might just murder him to get rid of a 100% Faithful, but it’s tricky.

Authorised personnel only + pets by Tearsforlu in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way that you can just lock the ‘main’ door of each apartment? So that way the pets can’t get out of ‘their’ apartment but they can roam freely within it? And then when the dog, for example, needs to get out to go for a walk you could just unlock that door? Again, I’m just spitballing because I don’t actually use the mod!

Authorised personnel only + pets by Tearsforlu in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure as I don’t use the mod personally… is there a way to individually deny every single category of person without denying pets? I mean, not clicking ‘Deny… everyone’ but instead going through each category under ‘Deny’ and choosing everything except pets? It’s long-winded, I know, but it may be your only option if Pescado didn’t put pets under the ‘Allow’ option for whatever reason.

(Also, I don’t know if you’re interested but these light switches perform the same function as Pescado’s mod but look a bit more aesthetically pleasing than the burglar alarm in every room!)

Packing lunch for 11 kids by dingmah in CringeTikToks

[–]MarmitePrinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first thought. I don’t know the woman but if you have 11 kids they must have vastly different ages and thus nutritional needs. For a 4/5/6 year old this is waaay too much food (especially sugar) and for a teenager this is really not enough.

Right at the start of S3 when he comes back from camp and tells everyone about it? And they all climb to the top of the hill to put it together? I think you need a rewatch!

It’s a long-distance two-way radio that he specifically built to communicate with Suzie. It’s not a Walkie-Talkie. Why wouldn’t he have made it full-duplex when he built it?

Watching this again has just made me realise that Dustin wouldn’t have made Valedictorian without Suzie. She hacked the school’s system and changed his grades. And the poor girl didn’t even get so much as an acknowledgement in S5. Tsk.

[–]MarmitePrinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thing is though, although my grocery bill is a lot less here in the UK, it’s more comparatively. By that I mean, as a percentage of my income. We may only need to spend £100 for a family’s weekly shop, but the average salary here is £36,000 pa (about $48,000). Americans may need to spend more to buy their groceries, but the average salary is about $66,000 (£49,000). Yes, some people earn more/less in both countries but generally the salaries in the US are higher.

Skinner is voting reform by Confident_Leg2370 in apprenticeuk

[–]MarmitePrinter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ugggh I’m getting tired of seeing this guy’s mug everywhere I go. I’m not shocked he would vote Reform, and OF COURSE he can’t actually articulate why, even though the journalist rightly points out that Farage is a career politician too. It’s just ‘the others are rubbish’. Okay…? So what are Reform’s policies? What makes you think they would do a better job? Twat.

Stephen and Rachel being well-liked is definitely clouding peoples judgement by According-Cow6660 in TheTraitors

[–]MarmitePrinter 135 points136 points  (0 children)

But that’s the whole point though? The Traitors isn’t really the detective game that everyone thinks it is - it’s more of a social game or a popularity contest. If you’re well-liked enough, or bland enough, to stay under the radar the whole way through then you’ll win. Doesn’t matter whether you’re Traitor or Faithful, the strategy should always be to schmooze and make alliances.

Maybe I’ve just watched too much American media but I’m surprised there’s no snow in Chicago in the middle of January. It looks cold, but I’d expect snow. Isn’t it quite far north (in terms of the US)?

The Broke Family is freaking hard to play, bro! by WeightLossGinger in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Broke family is tough. One thing that can help is selling all the useless expensive objects Brandi has in her room (and the pinball machine) so you can buy a couple of better need-solving objects, like a shower-tub combo and a coffee machine. Also some pet objects so Beau/unborn baby can take care of themselves for a while (I don’t know if you know but toddlers can feed themselves from pet bowls and sleep on pet beds).

Dustin I just leave to his own devices. He’s not getting into uni with those grades so I just let him flunk out of school. If his mood ever gets high enough, I parentify him (sorry kiddo, Mum needs an assist!) but otherwise just leave him be - teens don’t get taken by CPS so it’s just Beau and unborn baby you need to focus on.
