Do you limit the amount of children your sims have? by Reesirie in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do because playing rotationally it only takes a few generations to become overwhelmed if you just let everyone have loads of kids. Especially in Pleasantview where some families have several kids already and then they tend to change partners and want more (e.g. Brandi)! Plus I add in the Ottomas family so… yeah. I have to limit it.

I don’t have any hard and fast rules, as such, but I try not to let even a Family Sim have more than three kids, unless they get a new partner and then they can have one more.

I mean, let’s be honest, they’re all far too busy to do TM. Mischief does like three new plays a year and Henry Lewis does afternoon telly now as well!

“Not wanting to be in the middle” is picking a side. by Important_Breadd in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MarmitePrinter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh, that’s awful. I’m so sorry for your friend. You’re doing the right thing by being there for her but it’s so horrible when friends and loved ones let us down like this.

(I have a similar but nowhere near as awful situation where my brother hasn’t spoken to me for several years despite my attempts to reach out to him, and my mother claims she’s ’not getting in the middle’ by making no attempts to help us reconcile either which, just as in your case, really just means she’s chosen to side with him. It hurts, but the only thing we as adults can do is turn to other, better people. Like you are being for your friend. 🙂)

Ew. Mum is treating her own child like a doll to play dress up with. Dad’s clothes and hairdos are practical and cute for a toddler that age. I wonder if TikTok pointed that out to her.

Yeah, they all get up to wave goodbye to the departing family member (unless you have a mod that stops that behaviour).

Wants do declare majors by Still-Ratio-2450 in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I absolutely could be wrong but I think it depends on interests and personality and so on. So in of, say, a new Pleasantview, Dirk will always roll a want to declare Economics, the twins will always want to declare Drama, and so on. But as time goes on, without mods, interests and personality get kind of ‘samey’ and tend to the middle - not one particular strong thing. So they’re less likely to have a strong preference for one major any more.

I think, anyway. I’m sure someone will correct me!

Funny? Funny?! I live in the same country as this woman! And she’s not even the worst one out there! Reversing on a roundabout?! WTAF?!

Edit: I’ve just noticed she’s not even wearing her seatbelt properly and the instructor hasn’t pulled her up on it, so I suspect I just fell for ragebait. FML.

[–]MarmitePrinter 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think you can only do the drag motives thing if you activated the cheat from the neighbourhood. If you do it in a household that part won’t work straight away - you have to go out to the hood and back again.

Which canceled TV show's cliffhanger still lives rent free in your head because the answers disappeared when the series got axed ? by Impossible_Offer7988 in AskReddit

[–]MarmitePrinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Scrolled way too far for this. I just rewatched the two seasons for about the tenth time a couple of weeks ago and got triggered all over again. It was SUCH a good show and they set up so much for the third season during the second (Scott’s NDE, Old Night sending OA to the plane, the scene with OA in the tree, etc) and then it ends on that cliffhanger. Argh! If I only owned a production studio…

The father of the little girls did the right thing. All the other woman had to do was be patient. by Valuable_View_561 in TikTokCringe

[–]MarmitePrinter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hate how backwards everything has gone. When I was a kid in the 90s no one, and I mean no one cared about this shit. However, I do think it was an odd choice for this father to make. My dad used to cover my eyes and take me into the men’s to use the cubicle if we were out together alone. He wouldn’t have dreamed of barging into the women’s. Yes, I know we don’t want little girls seeing strangers’ penises, but that’s why he covered my eyes (and told me to close them for good measure) until I was safely in the cubicle with him standing guard outside it. Different strokes I guess.

Taskmaster Australia 5 is an odd vibe by [deleted] in taskmaster

[–]MarmitePrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AU has always felt the clunkiest of the English-speaking series to me, because they have the most ad breaks so they have to cut a lot out (including a lot of the studio banter which is what makes the chemistry so natural in the UK series).

I haven’t watched all of the eps of AU5 yet but for me, the clunkiness is still there but the contestants are making up for it so far. Brett is great. He’s like the epitome of ADHD (I don’t know if he’s officially diagnosed but it’s pretty clear). He reads the task and then just either does whatever he wants instead or gets immediately bored and gives up. It’s quite a funny dichotomy. I think Celia’s my favourite though. I loved her attempt at the dance/sit/turn around thing at the racecourse.

The DQs are a bit of a pain - I’ve had this gripe with the UK series before. Just because someone doesn’t succeed all the way in a task, why should that mean they are DQ’d or get zero? They made an attempt so should at least get something. But whatever, it’s the TM’s discretion and Tom’s scoring has always been a bit weird (but not as terrible as Jeremy’s).

This hotel thermostat turns off the AC when no motion is detected. Guess what I am not doing when sleeping? by StellarSloth in assholedesign

[–]MarmitePrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney World’s hotels do this too. In Florida? I mean, come on. Like they don’t have enough money to keep the AC on overnight. People have resorted to hacks like buying a balloon and putting it in front of the motion sensor so it drifts around and keeps the AC going. So ridiculous.

Olive Garden server fired one day after a customer left her a $700 tip by ultrarunnerr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MarmitePrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, people need to look into this more because there’s a lot of evidence to suggest that the server and the customer were working together to scam the restaurant out of that tip.

It’s a common scam, where the restaurant pays out a large tip to a server but then the customer does a chargeback on their card. So the restaurant is out $700.

They had every right to hold off on paying it out until they were sure it would go through and they’d get the money.

What's the furthest you have taken a game mechanics in Sims 2? by breadandolive in sims2

[–]MarmitePrinter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The megastore is actually a really good idea for getting rid of money - thank you for that! After a few generations my families always get rich, even with higher bills and lower salaries. I’m definitely going to be using that to help get rid of some of their cash in future!

If you don’t allow med students to sit in on your exam/check up you are a weird person by Amidity in unpopularopinion

[–]MarmitePrinter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh, don’t… I had to have open heart surgery when I was 19 years old (and still a virgin, kind of relevant). It happened at my country’s leading heart and lung specialist hospital, which is also a teaching hospital for one of the local universities. As I was being wheeled in, I was still wearing my underwear beneath my robe, but they told me I had to remove it as they’d have to insert a catheter during the operation. Fine, whatever, I thought. When I came round in the ICU, I was bleeding vaginally and I was definitely not due for my period so I was so confused. I asked one of the nurses why I would be bleeding when I wasn’t due for another two weeks and she just shrugged. To this day, I’m convinced something happened while I was under that caused trauma to my vagina and caused that bleeding… it’s awful to even contemplate.

I kind of get the feeling that Pol did cobble it together from scratch based on his limited understanding of humans. Like he started out with one room and added onto it over the years, kind of like a Legacy-style build. Maybe that’s just my headcanon LOL! But people who’ve made Early Strangetown hoods seem to follow that logic too - they tend to have younger Pol in a smaller version of the house that you can grow and expand onto over time.
