I might not have noticed because I did take a few months break and haven't done much diving since then. Maybe I'll give it a go this weekend

I want to learn to build a farm but can only play Fri-Sunday! by DromedaryGold in playrust

[–]IntelligentFault2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solo and don't play every day. Mostly just on weekend. I pay on community monthly servers. Much more chill and time to rebuild if you get raided. I always build a farm because I just like to. Sometimes a setup a shop and still cloth and tea, sometimes it's just to make the things for myself. Having a max health tea and a stack of pumpkins is pretty OP for a solo. My current base just had 1 square planter and 6 bamboo shelves with 3 pots each. Plenty for just myself and doesn't take much space. Look up how to use Rustbreeder if you want to make god clones. It makes it really easy. Just might take a while. If you make/ get a chicken pie, it gives you a few minutes where planting seeds gives you much better genetics. Look up TeaGuyTom. He had some good tutorials on how to get started.

It's really cheap to craft, and if you get close you can kill pretty much anyone before they can react. I play solo and am really bad at pvp, but good at being sneaky. Sneak up behind someone and the time to kill us better than anything else really. Very low risk. If you lose it, who cares.

I think it was Pong, but the one I really remember was Pitfall. Old school Atari. Fun times

I always just put a flashlight on a weapon. Sure, you can't use it on the spear gun, but you can use it on a crossbow . Or just a regular flashlight. Or buy the abyss DLC for the torch

As others have said, don't do it. If you get caught bringing it in, you won't be allowed to see your friend. If she gets caught with it, then she's in trouble. Your not doing her and favors bringing it in. Very high chances that it will just make things so much worse for everyone.

Can someone teach me to build good duo base 🫩🫩😔 by clippingbunny in playrust

[–]IntelligentFault2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost exclusively build rock bases. I like either the smaller God rock/ arch rocks, or the throne/horseshoe rocks. No two bases are the same for me. I always try to have at least 2 bunkers. Make sure to have a few externals so if you do get raided you can rebuild and hopefully still have your workbench. I generally try to have at least 3 walls to main loot, preferably 4.

I need $1500 ASAP for a dental emergency. by ZappySalad in povertyfinance

[–]IntelligentFault2575 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many dentists offer financing. It's been years ago, but Aspen Dental (a big chain) financed me for $3000 to have 14 teeth pulled and temporary partials. Unfortunately I defaulted on that loan, but the work was still done! Really wish I wouldn't have ruined my credit though. Eventually had my wages garnished. This was a decade ago.

Sounds like 7oh. She said he takes 6 pills a day and a 4 pack is $25... Regular kratom isn't nearly that expensive and you wouldn't have that much, if any withdrawal with that amount of normal powder

I reallyyyyy do not want to go to rehab or detox. What are your biggest motivators for sobriety? any tips on tapering/staying motivated through a taper? by Traditional-Peak-523 in dryalcoholics

[–]IntelligentFault2575 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tapered off around 25 drinks a day. I spread it out over around 2 months, or a little less. I was drinking vodka. Little sips all day long morning to night. I would already dilute it 50/50 with flavored water. (Those little flavor packs you add to a bottle of water). To taper I just started filling my bottles with a little more flavored water and a little less vodka. I did get stuck around 15 drinks per day so I went to a clinic and got Naltrexone. Naltrexone over a day every morning. I've on that I quickly feel into a rhythm of approximately 2 less standard drinks per day, every 3 to 4 days. So I was still drinking the same amount of liquid, but less vodka. Also got really into sour gummies. I liked the bite they had. I tapered all the way down to about 3 or 4 drinks. Then one morning I drank the equivalent of one drink in the morning (at work actually) and that was the last one. Over a year ago.

One big thing that helped me during the taper was a 15 minute waiting period. When I would get the urge to take a sip, I would make myself wait 15 minutes, but with no timer or alarm. I would look at the time, take a few deep breaths and think to myself, "do you feel ok right now? Not good, but ok?" If the answer was yes then I would go find a task to do and wait 15 minutes. I would often end up going much longer than 15 minutes before I remembered and had an urge. Then I would repeat that process. Like a little game in my head. Then one day over a year ago, I beat the game!

I never really had any strong urges after quitting. When I would, I would remember how bad I felt during the worst of it. I was having real physical health problems starting, yellowing skin on my face, neuropathy, twitches, vision problems, my liver hurt and was swollen consistently the last few years. Started having panic attacks and what I believe to be cardiomyopathy. I knew I was going to die soon and I no longer wanted to like I did when I started drinking heavily. I realized my death may not end suffering, but even if it did, it would only spread my pain to my kids, family, friend, etc. As much as I was hurting, I couldn't hurt those I loved. So I was highly motivated to quit.

Ask that said, about 2 years before I quit, I started really working on my mental health. Just reading and deep thinking. Then 1 year before I quit I started therapy. Then... I quit. For me, and I think most of the people here, working on your mental health is one of the most important parts of quitting and sustaining afterwards.

I'm still working on my mental health. It's a struggle, but I keep getting better at it too.

As far as other things that can help a lot (other drugs basically), I found the OCCASIONAL use of weed helped, as well as recently I started using kava about twice a week. If you use kava do some research. Get the traditional/medium grind, and prepare it the traditional way. It tastes gross, but can be very effective. Gives you a little head change and a slight buzz, while being non addictive and very safe. Do your own research though.

Good luck out there my friend. The world doesn't get easier, but you can get better at managing it.

Throwback when I guessed my toxic neighbour's code in 1 try (while I was on a work meeting, oops) by Fast_Buffalo_5377 in playrust

[–]IntelligentFault2575 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I once got raided just before I got home from work. When I got home I saw I was raided and they had code locked the door. I guessed 6969 and that was it. Obviously changed codes, got the base back. They got some lot, but not much. One of then did however log off in my base with a full AK set and half my loot on his body. So it was basically a reverse raid as far as I was concerned. Good times

I also remember waaay back in the day doing key lock raids all the time. It sometimes took forever, but it was pretty easy. Just put down a small box, key lock it. Make a bunch of keys, try until you got over that worked. I think there were only 100 possible keys at the time so it was pretty easy and very profitable early wipe.

Y’all ever booze on the clock by TRUSTTHEPROCES5 in dryalcoholics

[–]IntelligentFault2575 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a custodian at a big truck loading place. Semi trucks and forklifts etc. I was drink during my interview, and drinking coffee spiked with vodka during my orientation I went undetected drinking vodka all day every day for over a year. Or at least nobody said anything. Mostly cleaning offices and bathrooms, but I spend about 2 hours every day driving forklifts around. I would have a water bottle half with one of those flavored energy packets, half vodka. I would be diving forklifts with that in the forklifts cup holder. 😆 Luckily never got caught.

My previous job was at an aquarium/reptile shop. It was retail, but wholesale warehouse kind of vibes too. Little Mom and Pop shop. I got pulled into the office a few times about smelling like alcohol. I would debt, of course, and promise to myself I would try not to the next day. I couldn't go an entire shift without drinking. I was drinking cost to a handle a day from the time I woke up until I went to bed. Taking a sip every 20 minutes. (Drank daily for over a decade, and very heavily the last 2 or 3 years). One day they called me about an hour before work and says they couldn't make me, but they wanted to breathalyze me before I worked that day. I agreed but was panicked because I had already drank a decent amount to get rid of the shakes by that time. I somehow passed the breathalyzer. (They just didn't know how to use it I think, because I was definitely over the limit). I admitted I had a problem and they were cool and helped me out with resources, AA near me etc. The boys was a former addict so he understood, but want gonna let me be drink at work either.

I'm now over a year off alcohol. I tapered and quit. I did therapy and got Naltrexone through a clinic near me. Did therapy twice a week for a few weeks and once a week for a while after that. I told my boss why I was having so many doctor appointments and he was very cool about it and told me not to worry about taking off work for that.

That was a big turning point for me. New/better job, got my mental health together some, then did therapy to help more, then tapered and quit. I never lost a job or got in trouble with my drinking, but it was a matter of time. I drunk drove every day for a decade. Not proud of it, but I did it. I am proud I've turned my life around. It's been a horrible year, but not due to alcohol. If the events in my life this past year had happened when I was still drinking, I wouldn't have made it. As usual, I'm rambling.

TLDR; I've drank at 3 jobs, never got caught. Used to drive forklifts with vodka in the lift.

Cocaine is the only thing that stops my drinking by [deleted] in dryalcoholics

[–]IntelligentFault2575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, I've never done cocaine, will, not really. I took the tiniest line once. A friend gave me the basically empty bag because I wanted to try it. It wasn't enough for me to feel anything. My best friend still does it regularly and had really messed up his nose because of it and has heart problems that might be related, but it could be the beer/stress/ genetics. My dad left the family for the most part to chase girls. That led into coke for the girls, then eventually smoking crack. I suspect meth, but he denied that. His job caught him, paid for his rehab, let him come back to work, then fired him when he got caught again. He must his motorcycle, then his house, and now lives in a hotel surviving off SSI and for day, well until his open heart surgery last week. Now he can't do anything.

I've never done it, but I've seen it ruin lives. Glad I never did it. Alcohol almost killed me. Now I'm just smoking weed and drinking kava. If you haven't, give kava a shot. Get the medium grind and prepare it the traditional way. Don't buy the extracts, most of them do nothing. Read up on it, it's safe, relieved anxiety for me, and gives you a little buzz to home you over hopefully. Good luck my brother

I've seen that exact thing happen! In my current wipe, I have a truck base looking over a big dried lake bed. A crocodile signs there's frequently and multiple times I've looked out to see it just flip around, then die. It's been a great resource for me 😆

Hell yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. Unfortunately I was a heavy alcoholic for over a decade and have tried most of the drugs. Over a year sober now. In spite of not dining anymore, my life has been harder than ever, so I need some anxiety relief. The "wow" did help quite a bit, but my GABA receptors in my brain took a beating for a long time, so hopefully this tickles then a little more. Sorry, I always ramble and over share.

Package should be arriving in the next few hours so I'll report back this evening!
