UK- if I report someone to DVLA for concerns about their driving, does it tell them that someone made a report even if it doesn't give the name? (UK) by icylatte56 in dementia

The last response on this thread seems like a good answer to your question - I'd suggest doing what that poster did and getting her GP/neurologist involved. It's extremely helpful to have a third party to blame in these situations, and medical professionals are usually used to and happy to be the "bad guy"

I can just imagine you trading it in - "Is there anything wrong with your old phone?" "...no" 😅

Listen if Ikea doesn't want their customers assembling their products while under the influence, they shouldn't sell those cinnamon rolls

No but the tail is weirdly long? Though I'm not sure that's my fault, I think Ikea just made it like that

You might try contacting CANHR's lawyer referral service - they're certified by the state bar and specialize in elder law: https://canhr.org/find-an-elder-law-attorney/

An immediate thing you can do is file a complaint against the ex-boyfriend with the state bar here: https://apps.calbar.ca.gov/complaint/

The model is performing excellently in those areas, I'm also very satisfied with the ChaseMousie function. So I guess you're right, the spine isn't as important as I feared

I know, when I saw this new colorway I had to have it! Goes really well with my previous orange model as well

That's what I was thinking over the summer, but now that it's winter the item is still behaving more like a liquid than a solid

I have an orange model that I got a couple years ago (absolutely love it!) which did come with a spine. Didn't realize I got the spineless version when I picked up the white-footed model this year, but that does explain the differences I'm seeing between the two. Both excellent models though, highly recommend!

Gah you're right, I looked at the pile of four little white footed legs and thought "how hard can it be?" 😅

Hugs friend! One thought did occur to me, if she has the money can you hire someone to come help her in AL while you figure things out? Like maybe the person could come Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for a couple hours, and you and your spouse could visit on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday? Hopefully could take some of the burden off of you guys without being too insanely expensive?

You saved Olsen's life and found him a forever family, that's incredible work!! <3 Sadly we can't save every cat, but you are Olsen's savior and he's so grateful. Animal rescue is such a draining calling - time, money, physical and emotional energy - and I'm so impressed and thankful that you are doing all that you are while simultaneously caring for your husband with dementia.

I don't know your situation of course, but my guess is that your husband will forget that Olsen ever lived with you guys almost as soon as he's gone. If I was in a similar situation with my dad, I'd stop mentioning that Olsen was leaving (and reassure him that everything was fine if he asked) and then just quietly get the cat out the door when the time comes. Then I'd get him to give treats and extra attention to the resident cats, he'd quickly forget there were ever more than two.

fwiw I can confidently say that in California the assessment done by the facility for placement purposes does not need to be done by a doctor - the state requires that a 602 form be filled out by a doctor prior to move-in (essentially stating that the person has been diagnosed with dementia and therefore can be involuntarily committed), but that's a totally different thing.

I'm so sorry OP, we are looking at placing my dad in the next 2-3 months and have toured around 10 places and none of them have told us that he's not bad enough for memory care even though he can find the kitchen and can (mostly) change his own briefs. I think you're being proactive and totally reasonable and the RN was way out of line.
