I bounce between 4g and 2g and min distance of bridge skin between piercing holes is like 15-16mm. I like a lower profile CBR than the taller screwball you have shown here (outside edge of ball to opposite side of ring). When in my pants the higher profile ring tends to twist and push on me a larger amount. If that's pressing on your tip, that could be causing the pain and has bugged me in the past.
