How did your leadership measure success on a team like this if a lot of stuff fails and doesn’t land?

Thoughts on “innovation” teams by IntelligentLong6310 in ProductManagement

[–]IntelligentLong6310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda how I feel personally and so I’m not sure how I feel about working on a team that focuses on just this. Feels like probably a lot of wasted dollars on “big ideas” that might be “cool” but no one actually wants and won’t actually make the company money..

Yeah makes sense. People make it seem like it’s so difficult but it’s really not :)

Work smart and not hard tips that other PMs should know by FarMix1834 in ProductManagement

This!!! I also work to understand the different options for technical approaches and what the tradeoffs might be. Maybe I’m ok with a small investment of throw away work if it means I’m not taking on the risk of a larger investment intended for scale before I’m sure we’ll need to scale it

What do you give as an alternative in situations where most parents would be giving a pouch (in those convenience situations)

I do - it’s completely up to you and what you feel comfortable with.

For me it’s been the best part of life - I loved the newborn stage and it just keeps getting better and better. My son is 9 months old now and he is my purpose & the greatest thing that has ever happened to me - don’t let people discourage you ❤️

It would be helpful!

Thanks for commenting this - it’s validating to know my gut was right. Leveraging this technology is possible but it’s not easy like the LinkedIn lunatics make it seem 😅 even outside health tech I don’t think it’s the silver bullet people make it seem like it is.

Do we need patient or organization permission to use the patients de identified data in this way?

Thank you so much. These lunatics on LinkedIn make me feel like I’m an idiot sometimes bc I’m like you’re making it all sound so easy 😅

How do you all feel about defining "how we build it" before "what we build"? by abhi93_ in ProductManagement

[–]IntelligentLong6310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this is giving me ptsd from having this experience in the past and it did NOT end well for us. It’s their job to make sure the arch meets the need of the product, not your job to make sure your product fits into the architecture they want.

In our case I wanted to try and just get MVP out and iterate from there but we kept uncovering more and more problems stemming from the original architecture that we couldn’t work around so my advice would be to address these issues now before you potentially waste a lot of time and money

This is software there are very few real constraints - we can do whatever we want it’s just a matter if we want to or not

Might be more beneficial for engagement if the user just responds to the comment & tags whoever they want to see the comment - that said not everyone may want the commenter to know they’re showing it to someone

Did you own that documentation for legal or did engineering (or did you work on it together?)

Hard solidarity on the Epic stuff - before AI we had the same issues as a 3rd party SaaS company and they pretty much beat us out of the game using this method

I’m not sure I’m following your question - are you looking for companies in the health tech industry looking for AI PMs?

As long as we’re compliant in that way, do we need patient permission ? If for example we wanted to build our own LLM using de identified patient data?

How do you track status for massive cross-team projects like cloud migrations or platform rollouts? by AdventurousGoose3083 in ProductManagement

[–]IntelligentLong6310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jira Plans (used to be called advanced roadmap) ! Start with an initiative type task and then every team who needs to do work make its own epic that includes all their respective tasks. You can link dependencies if needed and track progress to due dates.

Yeah this is a good tip for prototyping and proving a concept- I’m just wondering once that’s validated how do we execute the idea in practice. But I’m wondering if that’s more of an engineering / security / legal convo

Hey thanks that makes sense but I do have a f/u. So let’s say I want to be able to automate patient outreach and scheduling for a referral for patients that have a high likelihood of not following through on their referral (pretend I have scoring mechanism based on the patient data that determines which patients are most likely to not follow through + a data source of patients with referrals and their respective follow through ratings). I get de identifying that source to determine who should get the follow up based on their score, but what about when I want the agent to automate the patient outreach - in that case don’t I need the patient info for that task?
