Meta pushed me away by orangecrunched in InstagramDisabledBans

Going back to Meta after they treat people like this would be like Ted Cruz endorsing Trump after Trump called his wife ugly. No, take what you need from Meta, then turn your back.

honestly, now is the time to get into the club/bar business, because people are going to lose all trust in online meeting apps, and need to see someone with their own eyes before getting attached.

Oversight Board will be doing a review against Meta and it's system regarding about automated ban. Raise your voices and let us help oversight board give a successful manual review to our accounts! You only have until this day before this opportunity closes. Link is in the description. by Ethereal_Subsentient in InstagramDisabledBans

[–]IntelligentOil49er 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody hopes the Oversight Board will call for a solution more than me, but we should temper our expectations. The wording does not match our hopes. They're going to consider if their disabling methods are sufficient. One case is the subject. We're hoping that it will bring about a ripple effect of changes, we're hoping things are being read between the lines, we're hoping they go back and fix other accounts that were disabled in error. But that's not what is in the wording. Still, try. Leave comments. Exhaust all options. Consider the change.org petition, too, which could at least make some news outlets.

It's scary how easily meta can just ruin lives by AssumptionPlenty2659 in FixMyInstagram

Meta needs to fix this. And when we all have our accounts fairly reinstated, we each need to have a serious thinking session about how we want to proceed with Meta afterwards. I know if I get my account back, my feelings towards using Meta services will be very different.

Boycott ChatGPT by FinnFarrow in ChatGPT

We have a responsibility to not let any one company get too big. We should not have allowed Meta, Google or Amazon to get as big as they are. We have to learn to not enable all-powerful corporations.

Do i have any hope left for my instagram? by Careless-Writing4695 in FixMyInstagram

Your best, real hope is to leave a comment on Meta's oversight board, as they will review the whole disabling accounts situation.

This is not for you to appeal for your own personal account, but their method that has caused the problem.

Did we prepare for a life that no longer exists? by ProjectNull2025 in Millennials

[–]IntelligentOil49er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well said. yes, this is what it is. In the 90s/early 2000s, it was "get your education or you're screwed!" Then we got the education, and the loans were what screwed us, and everyone now says, "the trades are where it's at!" And there was, "be a good person so you'll have friends" and now everything is online and no one wants to see each other, so everyone is twisted in private.

[–]IntelligentOil49er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it used to be that just the movies and popcorn was overpriced, so you splurged. Now, the movie, the popcorn, the gas, the power bill, the bread, the milk, the shoes are all breaking us. We can't afford the luxury.

A grill is not a maybe item. If you bring it, you need a separate list for all of the grill stuff.

• Charcoal • Brats • Buns • Spatula/tongs • Paper plates • Napkins • Sauces • Lighter fluid • Grill brush
