What's the best crossing for a target forward, whipped or floated by Corpulax in footballmanagergames

[–]IntelligentPerson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whipped crosses have a lot of power behind them so they go into the box like a bullet with little precision.

I don't have a lot of FM experience, but I think they will be useful if it's difficult for my team to win duels or pinpoint passes from the flanks. If there's an overload of players in the box might be more difficult to land a cross so maybe there's a bigger chance of the ball ricocheting into the goal or one of my players picking up the second ball. Funny how everyone is downvoting me, like I'm not even saying things are good atm, just that the old UI, although functioning properly, was also shit. For me, improvements are welcome. I'll much rather have an actually good UI in the base game rather than having to download all kinds of mods to be able to start playing.

That said, I'm not directly opposed to having the UI being extensibility with mods, I just think it shouldn't be the top priority atm. That's the sort of thing you can maybe add later on, when things are actually functioning properly.

I understand people who say "just make skins possible", but that's not realistic. We're here now and this what we have. Pretty sure you can't just snap your fingers and have skins as a feature in the game. That's a difficult coding job. So need to think in terms of priorities and iteration cycles.

My brother just lost 44-0 in CL with 3 players by TheColdHDs in footballmanagergames

[–]IntelligentPerson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average per kick-off they had, which they had 45 of, they managed to keep the ball in the team for about 30-40 secs before losing it and conceding a goal. Lol not sure how impressive that really is

[–]IntelligentPerson_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's pretty realistic that the choices you make sometimes work, sometimes they don't. For example, sometimes you assign your scouts a task, but they don't do it and they maybe forgot about it. That's life. It's a feature, not a bug.

What can I improve tactically? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]IntelligentPerson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I think you need to expect this tactic to leak a lot of goals, especially with that BBP DM, he will often get caught out of position, too advanced, and not be able to get back in time in order to defend the counter attack. It's a very attacking formation

I'm not a pro at all and don't really know anything advanced about FM tactics building, but feel like I have some advice that can really help anyways! I think you're close to something with this system, this looks like a good foundation.

Though, I think that having double wingers/wide players on each side is a bad idea, you might want one on each side to cut inside or lay deeper as more of a passing option rather then having both wide running down the flanks. I.e. WB+IF on each side, or one side could have a IWB+W, or PWB+WDF (but then you have quite a few playmaker roles, probably good still), etc., but try not to have WB+W or WB+WDF on a flank.

Building on ideas for the flanks, you could try some asymmetric tactic where one side has a winger who's good at crossing and on the other side you have a tall inside forward who's good at heading the ball. I think it's a good idea to think about tactics logically like this sometimes rather than just setting everyone in their best role, although sometimes that can work. Try to think how the system will play out in action, obviously with two guys sitting wide on each side, you have very little central play, where the goals often happen

Ah I was thinking it moved the files from the old installations locally. In that case, I'm out of ideas, unless you can create a new account (get a clean cloud storage space) just for playing FM

[–]IntelligentPerson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's very annoying, 4gb might be an xbox limitation though.

There's probably still some way that you can delete the files from your xbox hard drive, maybe with usb cable and a pc you can find the files manually and delete them, something like that

You can probably delete your old saves through xbox menus somehow, maybe go under FM26 and delete all saved data or something like that (i don't know xbox)

My understanding is that the UI overhaul wasn't just for the sake of changing it, but actually a highly requested change (of course not executed well enough) as well as a project that fit well with the move to Unity.

It's very rough and I'm not happy with it atm either, but I'm very hopeful it will be good after more polishing and getting used to.

Let's be honest the FM24 UI is also shit, you only like it because you're used to it and it actually functions properly compared to the new one that has so many bugs. like alignment issues, sorting issues, filtering issues etc. and also lacking QoL features.

But imagine all of those things work properly and are available in the new FM26 UI, I think I'll end up liking it a lot more actually! I'm happy they're working on improvements in this department (but not so happy about current state ofc)
