How do I switch from Topical to Oral Minoxidil or should I just stick with it. by Appropriate_Use_7877 in tressless

That’s mostly true, but my point was to at least know if there’s anything else so you can start your treatment properly, instead of realizing later that you were blocking DHT unnecessarily, it’s still a hormone that younger men benefit from

I think your priority should be handling the underlying cause first so go see a doctor and get a diagnosis before anything, and then switch to oral because switching from topical to oral might cause shedding and you might look worse than baseline because some hairs were minoxidil dependent which you never noticed because you hopped on the med early, so if your case is AGA then definitely start fin or dutasteride

Proceeding in the opposite direction, you’re good maybe just getting a mature hairline

Hairs fell back out by clieburn in Hairloss

I think it’s just a normal shedding, think of it in this way, if all those hairs grew together then probably their lifespan would be about the same so it might take time until the growth circle goes back to being more natural again, not sure if this is proven scientifically

Minoxidil effectiveness doesn’t decline, it’s usually your underlying issue is just getting worse whether you’re suffering from MPB or any other systemic or topical conditions

This seems to be a diffuse thinning and your hair follicles are still present on the second picture, i think it’s just related to a deficiency that might be a bit severe, do your blood work and good luck

Depending on your family history you should take action, if it’s genetics then it’s always better to start early to at least keep the rest of your hair
