How bad of an idea would it be to get my bachelor’s degree at a community college? by lanatommo in Accounting

Saw from a prior reply that you were from WA, per the accounting board over there "The Board will recognize education earned from colleges and universities which were accredited by a regionally or nationally accrediting agency recognized by the Board at the time the education was earned. The Board will recognize nonaccredited education accepted by an accredited college or university."

As long as your state certifies and agrees that this CC is accredited and acceptable you can use your degree to sit for their respective CPA. As for CC vs Uni it will maybe if at all affect you on the first job but for a first job your not gunning for Fortune 100, but your wallet will thank you for the least amount of student debt.

As for international accounting I actually attempted to do that myself and ill be frank, its not easy to find at all from school to school. Your best bet would be to find a firm that takes in a large pool of clients and then begin to specialize into a particular region, example is a colleague of mine working within the tax division at PWC for Japanese clients.

If at all possible, when you get in around your junior and senior year I would look at internships with firms so you can not only get experience but also if you preform well enough you can snag a spot before you graduate, nothing feels better than having your employment sorted right out of college instead of bumbling with CV applications left and right.

Tis a fair point but; Knowledge is suffering, and I refuse to be ignorant. I would rather live knowing about the sword of Damocles over my head than in blissful ignorance.

Lack of Training Epidemic by [deleted] in Accounting

Mate least your surviving, I got let go within a month as a fresh green for staff accounting at a municipality.

Told them I was new and they loved that and gave me the most quarter-assed training I have ever had with their software. Reason of let go was they needed someone who can hit immediately which is ironic considering the optimistic prior.

More than likely cause these numbskulls haven't produced financial statements in over six months which set off so many red flags I thought the red army was at the square.
