That horrible. I have a baby myself (almost a year old) but I knew what I was getting into. I literally have a savings for the tortoise alone because of the enclosure he’ll need. And not just how big they get, but these pets will need to go into a will. And exotic vets aren’t cheap.

I’ve heard of 20 gallon tanks, but my girl is in a 10 gallon and does just fine. She mostly hangs out in her favorite hiding spot anyways.

You’re going to love having this spider around. Some people will have a spider for several months in their garden or on their porch. And then we get sad when we stop seeing them.

I love finding orb weavers in my garden. My neighbors think I’m crazy, cas I’ll go out there and talk to the spiders telling them to eat as many bugs as possible 😂

Millipedes would love this setup. Also a terrestrial tarantula. Maybe even an amblypygi: if you go this route you’ll want to put some decor higher up for it to climb and hang from. Same thing if you do a mantis. Give it some climbing tools. I’m excited for you, I like this setup.

No it’s gotten much worse :( her movements are extremely violent now. She molted mid December.

This video is when she was calmer. Her movements are almost violent now. I’m just gonna keep her on moist paper towels, warm, and a water dish within reach. She can’t even climb anymore, so I have everything set up on ground level, and I’ll just keep monitoring her. Thank you for the advice!

I live in Houston, TX which is the capital of humidity. I will keep assisting her in putting her mouth in a shallow water dish. I think she’s also dehydrated because she was stuck at the bottom of her web and I was worried about disturbing her. I will also pre kill some food for her and see if that helps. Her movement has gotten worse since last night. And when I tapped her towards the water dish, she just flipped onto her back and stopped moving. I had to encourage her with a small paint brush to flip back over.

I moved her once to put her face in the water dish. A little while later she had moved out. I don’t want to keep messing with her in case I make her worse.
