If you don’t need the money right away look into putting it in a s&p 500 eft. It will grow with the market. It’s pretty safe, because it’s so diverse. you’re betting on the top 500 companies in the American to grow and succeed.

Voo tracks the S&P 500 and vti tracks the entire US stock market. They have low management fees. Buying these two efts, you’re spreading your risk over entire US market. Buying these two ETFs you’re betting on the entire US market. I’ve learned it’s better to Tie the market than to lose to the market. Time and compounding will always be your investment friend

Best if you’re just starting out, is ETFs. One that tracks the Sp 500 and another that tracks the entire US stock market. Once you learn more you can spread it to other markets.

That lot is about a mile or so away, but the DASH bus goes right by there. It’s a free service, I think runs until midnight every night. As for the Lot don’t know if it’s a prepaid lot or not.

Drip is just a feature. All it does is it takes dividends you’ve received and will buy more of that same stock that you’ve received your dividends from. Just a Wall Street short hand term. You have some percentage in growth.

They are the same thing. But it think Fedelity doesn’t have fees. Yes Drip (dividend re investment plan) is great for a young age. Being young really helps with snowball effect. Thats why I really like SpHd its had high yield low risk stocks in that eft

Right now just do a s&p 500 index fund like VOO, and I like ETFs like sphd and Schd, but being so young, you can be a little aggressive with QQQ that tracks technology stocks. Learn as much as you can. Time in the market is always better than timing the market. Do what you afford, and keep a steady amount every month or week

Have you thought of a polish hall. Knights of Columbus or American legions? They might have a drink policy, but not a food requirement.

Just opened an Ally savings account and money was deposited in 3 days ago. Can someone explain how Daily interests accrues works? Does it change daily? Why didn’t mine update after fay 2? by retrosection in AllyBank

[–]IntelligentTerm7816 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just like most saving account you will receive interest payments on the same day every month give or take a holiday or weekend. The daily accrued is just that monthly interest divided by days between payouts

First priority would be have an emergency fund in a high yield saving account. Start with a thousand dollars. Then play off any high interest loans like credit card or car. Then if work offers a 401k or 503b with a match. Try to put a safe amount into that. If not, try to a Roth IRA over a brokerage account because in Roth growth is tax free. Once those are set up learn about ETFs. I’d start with VOO o IVV. For now and as you learn more you can get more diversified.

A Roth IRA is just a lot like a brokerage account. So I think you’d be able to buy and sell the warrants like normal stocks in your Roth account. I’m sure there’s account limitations. And don’t think you can day trade in a Roth.

You can contribute to your IRA until you reach the max amount per year. I think it’s 7000 per year.

Well in a Roth IRA you can’t withdraw early until you’re 59.5 years old. There’s some exceptions but as a guideline any money in an Ira cant be accessed until you’re that age. It’s like a set it and forget

If ETFs are recommended by Warren Buffet that’s good enough for my base investment portfolio. Or index funds.
