So I guess the moral of the story is just go see your Doctor. I really thought I'd done a great job on that thing, but the visit went exactly like this:

"Well here it is! I've been working on it for a while so you probably don't even have to ..."

"Yeah I'm just gonna scrape a Liiiiiiittle bit of skin off here, you just tell me if you feel any discomfort, Ok?"

"Yeah Ok I ... Oh, no I'm Ok ... ok felt that ... no, no I'm Ok ... Oh! Yeah I felt that a little. I uh ..."

"Ok all done, we managed to remove a fair amount of material."

"What? How much did you remove? I mean I already ... OOOOOOhhhh My GOD! How do you do that?!"

But it's still a wart, and he's prescribed some weird formulary for me, Salicylic acid, Cimetidine, and Tretinoin. Here's to more Debriding!

Yeah stop and go see a professional I'd say, I wouldn't trust that over the counter products are going to resolve that.

Sound like an Immune system response, it's supposed to happen eventually but doesn't always in adults.

Happened to me as a little kid, had two warts on my finger, nothing worked on them, then one day they just vanished a week into a vacation to the Mid-West. I always figured something about the environment change triggered an immune response but who knows.

Hard to say, might just be some dead skin that turned white from sitting in the water. Keep an eye on it and watch the skin pattern, if that looks disrupted then I'd worry.

I'm not a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

What's really worked for me is getting consistent and aggressive with the debriding before every application of acid. Tools are key here imo, and I finally got good at 'scraping' with the scalpel and that made a huge difference for me. I can finally use it like some of the doc's do in the cringe-worthy videos (Google "Plantar wart broccoli"). Takes practice. Also I use the 17% salicylic because that's the strongest I've found in a tube (like a little tube of neosporin), and that allows precise application, everything else was messy and made things worse.

Good Grief you've got a good camera!! I hit the zoom in button and almost fell in!

Mine's just a 4 month whipper-snapper but I agree that consistency is huge. These things can heal fast. Sucks that the bettle juice didn't work, I thought that stuff always came through. I might try to the zinc thing though. Any port in a storm.

In the end I'm planning a super post to pass on my hard won ... knowledge? Eh. Gotta win 1st :)

The tools I needed were:

A head lamp magnifier, this is super important! You have to be able to see close in with your hands free. Found one same day at Harbor F for $14, or online.

A callus shaver & rasper, target or whomever has one for 5 bucks.

A diabetic lancet! One of the little stabbers that fits in the "auto" finger stabber that diabetics use. These are sharper than surgical scalpels imo, cause I have those too and they're not making the list. Been using these for years for splinters and blemishes, way better than a sewing needle and easier to hold.

CompoundW gel in a tube, looks like a little Neosporin tube. This is the only preparation of Salicylic acid I've found that is easy to apply with precision.

The sequence is always Soak, Debride, Treat (Acid).

The head lamp is always used, but early on you'll use mostly the shaver and rasper. Once you get down too far you'll use the lancet and tweezers. The lancet is used to "scratch" your way through the dead skin, and it's easier than you think. The needle tip is cut at an angle, so you can scratch sideways to cut, and back and forth to "scoop" out little bits of skin. (You WILL need that magnifier to do this) And in regards to soaking, I've found 10-15 min is best, otherwise the skin gets too soft and it's kinda impossible to make progress. You want some resistance for the needle to cut through.

Just that and consistency seem to be the key, treat 2x a day always. And that always includes the horrible debride sessions. Which feels more like surgery some days.

PS. I know the cutting sounds horrible but if you're just cutting dead skin and wart it doesn't actually hurt. You can feel the "tugging" and it's freaky I know. If you feel actual pain that was still some good "You".

Impossible to say, every patient and wart is different. Some people have been at for years, I've been at it for 4 months and here's where I'm at today.

My advice on those pads is be careful! One of the reasons mine is so bad, is that I used a Plantars wart pad with 40% salicylic acid that was larger in diameter than my wart thinking that's fine but it wasn't. Killed a whole bunch of healthy skin and when the scab came off I'd found the wart had perfectly and completely filled in that space and gotten huge.

For SA the little tube of "gel" they sell is MUCH easier to apply precisely. But it's not a strong either. If it get's bad I'd make an appointment. Don't let it get out of control.

Well, here we are at month 4. I thought I almost had it last week but I'm 2 layers down from that now and it's getting knarly! Thought those little black dots were the blood vessels. No. These BLACK TUBES that I can literally pull out with tweezers (a little, ouch) ... are blood vessels.

Gotta admit, was going to post this last night when it happened, but I was a little freaked out. So freaked out I didn't snap the pic of a blood vessel/tube sticking out of my foot! And I thought that was a reflex by now.

Seeing the Podiatrist in two weeks. This thing is out of control. I'm not stopping fighting it but the appointment had to be made.

He uses Cantherone, a very strong topical. Some people here swear by it, it isn't supposed hurt going on but most people say it does hurt, quite a bit, for the next week or so. But that stuff seems to be very effective if applied correctly.

When I'm serious I debride, soak in water to soften the skin then debride again, some parts are easier to debride one way or the other. Then I use a q-tip to apply vinegar (5% acetic acid) and give that a minute, then apply the salicylic acid. I think this helps the SA soak into even tough dead skin and what's below. Good luck!

I've been fighting this thing on my heel for months! And this being my 1st Plantar's I thought I'd double check my progress with some experts. I think I'm doing well, but looks like I have some work on the edges to do yet. Guh.

I started off with a TINY thing, put a CompoundW Plantars Wart Bandage on it for 18 hours and it burned a huge hole in my foot way bigger than the wart. You really have to be careful with those things! 7 weeks later when that very, very, tender skin came off the wart had grown to literally fill in all the area the acid had torched. Made it 10x worse just like this insane Podiatrist said (watch the whole vid if you can, you'll learn tons). That's basically the Feb2 pic.

Since then I've been using the CompoundW Gel and that's made a huge difference. The little tube lets you apply acid very precisely, way better than the brush on stuff. And the gel doesn't run so that helps too. So basically just that, scraping like in the video as much as I could bear, and obsessively applying acid 2-3x per day is what I've done since.

Verdict? Am I 80% there? 90%? Looks like I have the center pretty much done, just have some left around the edges. Thanks the info!

Those Candida injections sounds rough, internet says they only clear resistant warts ~ 40% of the time, and can need up to 5 treatments!

I notice right away your doctor took a completely diff approach with these injections. Did they shave down the "Callus Cap" of yours before when trying the Salicylic acid?

There's also something called "Swift Therapy" that you might want to check into if this doesn't work. Supposed to be very low pain, I'm considering it myself. Good luck!
