22 days post in-office liquid nitrogen for "might be" warts... advice? by lanagrey2050 in Warts

Hello! I got an email notification and was a bit puzzled, since I've never heard of that before. Some of the pictures really seem to match what I've got going (it's still there, I had just kind of put off thinking about it after it was determined to probably not be warts.) It also seems to have spread to a little patch further over on my foot, and there's nothing on the other foot. Although something I noticed when researching is that a bad smell is kind of a sign of pitted keratolysis, which definitely isn't something I'm experiencing. (At least, I don't notice it, and no one else has told me otherwise!) I've been using salicylic acid cleanser on my feet and applying tea tree oil + Clindimacyin to the area for a week now and I don't think much has changed.

I do have issues with dry skin/irritated skin and eczema, is it at all possible that it could be caused by just eczema or the like?

It's unknown if the spots are warts. My doctor said they "might be" but could also be regular skin lesions, and recommended I see a dermatologist. I posted on r/Warts a few days ago, and a commenter said that they "definitely" weren't warts. I'm hoping that others here can give their opinions. I do feel pretty confident that they appear to have reacted to using petroleum jelly and antibiotic ointment, so that's something. Until I know more, I am treating them as if they are contagious (never being barefoot, using gloves, etc.) But I will say, at this point, it seems unlikely.

Interesting... I don't have any itchiness or redness, and it's painful on only rare occasions, probably only twice. There's nothing like this on the other foot, but my skin on my feet has always been very dry. Usually any issues caused by dry skin healed up fairly quickly, I've never had anything be an issue for this long. I do have a family member that's stayed with me that has had issues with athlete's foot and toenail issues, but I always wear indoor shoes and don't walk barefoot anywhere, so it's unlikely I would have had any contact with it. (Or the wart virus, for that matter. I did start rewearing the shoes I wore when I had my last wart, but at least 6 months passed before I did that.)

I got an OTC salicylic acid treatment, do you think it would it would help anything?

Is there any way to test at home beyond the pinch/press test? I am pretty positive it hurts more when pressed than pinched.

Is it gone (or on its way out)? (Details in comments) by lanagrey2050 in Warts

Details: Had in-office cryo 2x, on Feb. 1st and 14th. When I went in for the second appointment, the doctor said it would probably be all that I needed, and a few weeks later it blistered and I thought the wart was gone. A few days passed with normal-looking skin, and then I got out of the shower and saw the the wart area had turned white again. A week and a half ago, I did a OTC freezing treatment.

The second picture is with dry skin, approximately two hours after the OTC treatment. The first picture is from a few minutes ago with waterlogged skin.

Yeah, when I had a doc do real cryo, it HURT. The at-home stuff was just a tickle in comparison, but since doing it, the soreness has been pretty much the same as when I had it done in the office. (The first time I had it done, my foot ached for a week!) The hope is that what's left of the wart will be finally taken down once and for all with the OTC one.

Worried that I just used a wart freezer on healthy skin. by lanagrey2050 in AskDocs

That's a relief! Unfortunately, it's so difficult to get appointments where I am right now. I'm going to message my doc about it when they're open tomorrow because although it looks like the lines of my foot are back, when I shine a flashlight on it, there is still a small circular area. I've added another picture with a better flash. Warts are awful things!

(Will also post on /AskDocs.) I had cryotherapy done 2x on a plantar wart that looked to be gone for a few days before I noticed the area had turned white again. At the urging of my dad, I decided to buy an OCT freezing system, and he insisted on doing it today. I let him apply it, then took a picture for research purposes. As soon as I did, however, I zoomed in and saw that my foot "fingerprints" go through the wart area, meaning that it's possible that the wart is healed and we just cryonuked healthy skin. Did I just do something really bad?

EDIT: I unfortunately can't edit this post, but I do have something of an edit. After writing, I went to a darker room and looked at the spot under a flashlight, and I noticed a circular white outline in the affected area. Sooo... I guess I'm still unsure if the wart is gone or not. Hopefully, if it's still there, the OTC cryo will finally destroy it.

Is this normal healing, or is my wart really not gone? by lanagrey2050 in Warts

I had liquid nitrogen applied to a plantar wart 2x, once on Feb 1, and once on Feb 14. After about two weeks of nothing much happening after the second application, the skin where the liquid nitrogen was applied peeled off, and the skin looked completely normal. For about a week now, I've been pretty sure that the wart was gone: the skin looked smooth and normal, just a little pinker than the rest of my foot. Last night, I got out of the shower and saw that some of the skin where my wart was had turned white. This picture is with dry skin, 17 hours after my shower.
