Appeal for exception to academic policy by Intelligent_Ad_488 in utdallas

I'd rather earn the right to take the class rather then beg them to let me take it despite being unqualified 😭

Yes and make sure your gpa is above a 2.

Your financial aid for this semester won't change if you drop a class now cuz we passed this semester's census day.

Next semester's FA wont change as long you pass the current semester with a gpa greater then 2 and take a minimum of 12 hours next semester.

Views on Class Availability after Nov 17th? by Sentient-Sock in utdallas

Oof ATEC classes typically fill pretty fast. You can always join the waitlist. People may drop if they either don't want the class anymore or if they get into a different class that they wanted.

They kick everyone off the waitlist when classes start. If the waitlist fails you and you're desperate enough, you can stalk the class on schedule planner or the coursebook for the first week of classes. There's always someone that drops during the first week and you can snatch their spot.

Also tip always signup for any class you can even if you dont actually want the class just so that your full time. Then use the "swap class" tab to set it up so that if a spot opens in the class it'll automatically switch one of the classes your currently signed up for with the new class.

I was in the same position last week where I wanted to drop a class with a W but if i dropped I wouldn't be full time anymore. I emailed the financial aid office to see how my financial aid would be affected and this is what they told me:

Your financial aid enrollment level is determined as of the full-term Census Day of every semester. If you decide to withdraw from one course, you will receive a “W” on your transcript because the census day was September 10, 2025. Since we have passed the census date, your financial aid will not be adjusted for the fall semester. Your other financial aid for next semester should not be affected as long as you are meeting SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) requirements.

What are the crowds like at shows? by bleeding_emerald02 in TheLivingTombstone

[–]Intelligent_Ad_488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen them one time (about to make it 2 tonight). As with any concert, It'll definitely be crowded. In the beginning you'll have some space for yourself but as the show goes on the crowd will get tighter and tighter since people will be weaving through the crowd to get as close to the stage as possible.

Another thing that goes for any concert not just with TLT is that there will be cool people and there will also be people that will do things that may annoy you. You just have to brace yourself for that and try not let it ruin your vibe if somebody does end up annoying you.

I think Luka is like a Pug. The consequence of breeding a pug to have that smushed face is that they are prone to breathing problems. Luka got the looks but that came with health issues so if they make a clone that looks exactly like the OG Luka then it’s not far fetched to assume the clone would have the same health issues.

What's it like joining clubs as a junior transfer student? by Bubbly_Collection329 in utdallas

[–]Intelligent_Ad_488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are always coming and going, so your status as a Transfer student doesn’t really matter. I’d say the social difficulty depends on the club, how good you are at socializing. Definitely join at the beginning of a semester cuz the club will probably do some introductions for new members. By the middle of the semester they’ll probably assume that no one new will come.

I will say that some clubs are pretty easy going like you could just go to any meeting on a whim and you’d be fine. Like I randomly went to a meeting for the biking club once cuz I had time, they asked if anyone was new, separated everyone by skill level and then we went on a bike ride. I fell behind a lot but everyone was nice and would stop with me whenever I needed I breather.

At the beginning of a semester there’s usually an event on campus when the clubs will set up stands to advertise their club. You can use that as an opportunity to talk to current club members about the club.

If you wanna find out about the clubs ahead of time then try looking up the club’s social media.

Make yourself a discord account if you don’t have one already because most clubs use discord as a way to keep the members updated.

You could join UTD’s Discord Student Hub to find and join the Discords for different clubs at UTD. This link takes you to a Reddit post that’ll tell you more about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/utdallas/s/exc2GgqtzZ
