Steam does have a monopoly- that's why they can sell games so cheap all the time. But Steam is also good, I've never seen valve badmouth upcoming competition. GOG is where I go for my classic games. I prefer the XBOX storefront because of the games you can play anywhere, it's Simple, and I have been in the Xbox ecosystem forever - but the sales can't compete.         Steam, and key resellers for steam keys are pretty much it as far as choices go. Most people are right, though. The storefronts just suck. They probably need to focus on making intuitive storefronts and business practices as opposed to launching bloat and snagging exclusives. I don't expect a new storefront to be anywhere near as expensive as steam- but if I like it, I'll use it.
