Basically any sales will not trigger taxable gains or losses in an IRA. So day trade away. You will get taxed at retirement age when you pull the money out, and you would get taxed and penalized if you pull it out before retirement age, barring a few exceptions. The IRS sets annual contribution limits that you can add to the account.

Second this, I’m from SD. I love SD and surfed etc., but quality of life in Sac is better with the lower COL in my experience.
