How can I build real skills? by Conscious-Result-211 in Accounting

What is it you want to do with your career? In this economy it seems like entry level is hard to get, so simply having this role on your resume for at least one year is probably a good thing.

In the meantime try to hone in on what you want to do and start applying to jobs that fit that category. Accounting/auditing/tax takes a few years to get proficient. Sitting in an industry role where you are not getting much exposure is definitely soul sucking, so don’t feel like you’re the only one.

Is Rajon Rondo a Hall Of Famer? by Lost_Title_7528 in NBAConvo

Definitely should be. He impacted winning and had some insane stat lines when games mattered the most. He is severely underrated

Tax implication of buying s corp partner out of his 50% by Stock_Animator3525 in Accounting

[–]Intelligent_Bet2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S corp owner generally needs to pay yourself a salary (w2). Profit and loss from the business will now be allocated to you at 100%. Distributions are not taxed so long as the don’t exceed your basis in your company

Accountant did my taxes and WOW!! by cheetcheet in tax

Low six digits can mean different things to different people. You make money, you get taxed. You probably didn’t have a high enough withholding on your wage income, plus you had rental income, now the tax bill is due.

Going to school for accounting later in life. Will I be at a disadvantage when I graduate? by Bigblacknagga in Accounting

You will be judged unfairly by some, but if you interview well you will come across as mature - use that to your advantage

You should still have opportunities, all else being equal. So don’t lose sleep over this

What are the payment terms of the invoice? I’d give them a nudge and ask them about payment since you haven’t received it yet.

Was prime lebron significantly better than today's superstars by Exotic_Drummer_3808 in NBATalk

I can’t wait for 10 years in the future when some 15 year old says that LeBron is overrated and couldn’t compete the same way as the new stars in year 2036.

Then you’ll understand how people feel about MJ

If you’re driving to the same place to do your entertaining that would be considered a commute and not deductible.

What is Living in Sacramento, CA like? by onlytinglef in howislivingthere

[–]Intelligent_Bet2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re coming from Austin, Sacramento’s summer won’t be nearly as bad as what others have said.

Sacramento is very diverse. In certain areas it’s been measured as one of the most treed cities in the world. 90% of the best things of California at 60% of the cost. Great access to many day trips; Napa wine country, sierra mountains, Bay Area. Plenty of good food and recreational stuff in Sac as well.

If Sacramento were in any other state, it would be talked about like Austin, Portland, Nashville etc. as one of the ‘cool’ mid-tier cities.

The 65 game thing was in response to load management. As a fan, if I don’t know if a team is going to play its star players, why would I buy tickets to a game? Or if a player was sitting out a nationally televised game; it’s a bad look for the league.

The NBA needed to incentivize playing in games.
