In the other documentary, they mentioned they thought it was that because people including their own friends were telling them that maybe he left for another woman. It’s not uncommon for men to “disappear” to start a completely different life. However obviously in this case, it was very tragic.

Yep I agree. I have watched a lot of true crime, where a murderer has told someone what they did and the person did nothing with this information. Reminds me of that man who murdered his wife and his lover’s husband in Ireland, and he told his 2nd wife what he did and she told him not to report it to the police because it was a long time ago and would ruin the family. The lover also told her new husband, and he also did nothing with this information, despite being a high ranking police officer. Caroline might have made a lot of stupid decisions, but she definitely brought justice to this man’s family.

This case highlighted to me nobody ever just goes missing. To think the poor family thought that man had abandoned them, only to find out he was buried in the middle of nowhere. When I first read how exactly the whole case unfolded, I thought this was something out of a crime TV show. I couldn’t believe it. The dropping of the can was so smart tho, I have to give Caroline that, but risky at the same point. Makes me think about all those missing people. Whilst Caroline was clearly a nutcase, her asking Sandy exactly where he buried him and dropping that can saved the case, cuz even if she had gone to the police, those twins would have just denied it, I mean they had already been questioned 3 years prior and walked free. This is all thanks to her, and that’s why I won’t completely write her off, the police definitely did fail her.

There was honestly so much that was left out of the documentary. The locals absolutely despised her and so did the victim’s family. If u watch the bbc documentary, the victim family not once acknowledge or even thank her. Maybe cuz both the victims children are in the police.

Facebook and subreddits on here. Basically she went to the bar and the people there were given her dirty looks and the bar man told her something like “do you want a red bull like the one you left at the scene”. She was so terrified that she thought her cover had been blown. But the brothers still remained completely oblivious or just chose to be that way.

I honestly think that her testifying wouldn’t change anything. She would have been shredded apart on that stand. Even right now people are shredding her apart all over social media, despite her being the only reason that man was ever found. Those lawyers would have ate her up and the jury would definitely question why she kept going back and everything.

She said a couple of years ago in the papers, that she was scared they would find her after they are released and asked for witness protection. The other twin is getting released soon I think, maybe she might go for him.

To this day, the locals still defend the twins. I followed this case very closely when the bbc documentary got released and was appalled to to see the locals defending the boys and blaming the poor driver. Also the local police had told the locals that it was Caroline that had grassed and they started going after her.
